Patriots Player Departure Mac Jones traded to Jags for a 6th

Public service announcement: The Jones pick was 100% Bill’s responsibility. He was the GM and coach. The buck stopped with him. All other opinions are wrong. The end.

Carry on.
There are things you can't learn until you get the guy playing. No one I heard was saying they shouldn't take Mac at 15.

Watching the Dynasty, I see Brady shredding his knee, then back at practice throwing, then getting pissed when they told him that no, you can't fix it at the end of the year! Mac hasn't got that edge, at all. Shows it in the red zone when the game's on the line...over and over again.

You can't know something like that from watching his Alabama tape.

I honestly think it wasn't the physical issues being the reason they only got the 6th-round pick. I think that was more due to the mental mistakes and his personality, with the former being the bigger issue. We've seen guys string together seasons with decent records despite having a bad arm. But those guys typically flame out after falling short enough in January where teams flip the page, not for the reasons New England was at with Jones at this point. He's out for reasons that go beyond his physical limitations.

I also think he irked too many within the organization where even a coaching change wasn't enough for them to believe he deserved one more chance after what happened last season. I think he also didn't take enough accountability, which I think - in addition to the losses - lost him whatever support he had left in the locker room.

Well you are not wrong as Wolf talked about Mac's on field bad attitude at his press conference, so there are lots of people who do not like Mac's attitude. Having said that, if Mac had a rocket arm, I think someone would have given us a 4th or 5th for him.

@Ian making a formal request for a Mac Jones forum, just like we did with that other QB worthy of a 6th rounder who left us for a Florida team.

Disappointing that we only got a 6th rounder. Hope Mac can find himself with a new start. He never really had a chance in NE playing behind a mediocre OL and passing to JAG receivers. That said, he never really displayed the fire in the gut that TB had.

What round do you think that Issac Guerendo will go in? He's 6'0 and about 221 and ran a 4.33 40 and considered a Dual-Role Back.
He also doesn’t have a lot of mileage on his body. My guess is he goes mid 4th or 5th.

Complete nonsense. Bill picked him, he was BB’s boy.
100%

From the article:

One opinion not caught on camera? That of ownership.

The reason? It wasn't part of the equation.

"We all wanted to do it," the in-the-room source explained, referring to the football operations staff present. "It had nothing to do with Robert."

I provided three links above to three different sources, also we have Kraft saying on national TV back in 2021 the draft would become a more collaborative process… but the opinion of a BB hater like yourself is solid proof.

Mac Jones smacking the nuts of opposing defenders and raising his cleats when he slid was a stain on the entire Patriot organization.

Mac sucking and reports coming out now that BB never wanted him in the first place and that Kraft wouldn’t let Bill trade him last offseason only makes BB’s exit make more sense.

Mac had a great offensive line, a genius coordinator and good weapons his rookie year… he finished 1-4 and turned the ball over eight times in five games.

Mac truthers are delusional…
? Great offensive line….no

Quite bizarre he only gets a 6th when he was 4 games out from winning rookie of the year in 2021. Yes, he easily would’ve won had they not gone on their now annual December slide and losing the #1 seed. It’s hard to believe, but they had the best record in the AFC going into the last quarter of that season.

Trey Lance gets a 4th when he did absolutely nothing.

I was hoping Mac went to a team where he could compete.
For a very short period it felt like the dynasty would continue

Not just ESPN, Jeff Howe and Florio wrote something similar.

Here is three links to three different sources:

Says it all that you subscribe to ESPN+

I wouldn't give BSPN one red cent.

The 2nd article doesn't say anything we didn't already know. Mac got shopped last spring and at trade deadline w/ no takers. I think the 6th rounder pretty much confirms that.

I don’t subscribe to ESPN chuckles, I literally googled the article and provided the link.

Anything that doesn’t blame BB for everything isn’t legit according to BB haters everywhere. Bias… it’s a funny thing.

I'll believe the guy "in-the-room" over Lombardi.

Thank you for participating.
