This thread will draw the Fieldsteins in like a moth to a light.I've seen the idea of NE trading for Fields a lot, with some idjits (not here, thank God) suggesting the Patriots trade #3 for Fields and the Bears' #9.
Can someone please explain the logic of this? It just feels like trading one messed-up QB for another messed-up QB.
someone who is a top 20-25 QB that is young with some upside
and was showing improvement as a passer down the stretch last season.
Fields? lol no
no. in the last 7 games of the season, 5 passing TD. 1 game over 225 yards, 4 games under 170 yards, 61%
Zappe in 6 games starting, 6 passing TD, 2 games over 225 yards, 1 game under 170 yards passing, 61%
Why waste a draft pick on a guy that gave Zappe like production. Fields actually had a #1 WR to throw to, Zappe didn't
And with Zap, that was with 2 games with horrendous weather (Fields didn't have that in the last 7 games).Fields? lol no

86.3 isn't good. By any measure today. One significant difference: Fields led the Bears in rushing with 657 yards despite missing four games with injury. He's twice the athlete Zappe is with a much stronger arm. Fields passer rating 86.3, Zappe 68.7. Like I said earlier, the Pats OL will be a work in progress and they'll need a quarterback who can move.

Every QB in the draft can run - why waste capital on a retread who's already proven he can't do it?
They just want a quarterback who can run. Of course, we could just let Stevenson or Zeke take direct snaps from the center.I've seen the idea of NE trading for Fields a lot, with some idjits (not here, thank God) suggesting the Patriots trade #3 for Fields and the Bears' #9.

I think the hype has more so to do with not starting Mac or Zappe next year. Hard not to be hyped about that!
It literally falls into the category of "we can fix him" or "the grass is greener" ...I've seen the idea of NE trading for Fields a lot, with some idjits (not here, thank God) suggesting the Patriots trade #3 for Fields and the Bears' #9.

Fields have improved unlike the Mac.I've seen the idea of NE trading for Fields a lot, with some idjits (not here, thank God) suggesting the Patriots trade #3 for Fields and the Bears' #9.

Just like WR enough of picking from the thrift store for foundation players. To be clear, I meant "Why should the Patriots do this?"
