PostGame Thread OFFICIAL POSTGAME THREAD: Week 17 - NE @ BUF

Immediate Postgame Reactions
That's about as low of a bar as you can have though. Had a friend of mine suggest they should keep belichick because the team didn't quit lol. Unbelievably laughable to me. It's a shame how far the bar has been lowered since Brady left.
The good thing about Bill is that he still inspires the players, like Trent Brown, Jack Jones, and JCJ, for example. Not to mention Mac and the entire ST players. The effort of the OL the entire season was worthy of praise. They were really trying. The receivers tried and fought really hard not to run the wrong routes, drop passes or commit dumb penalties. Belichick should get COY for how hard the entire team tried to play hard and never quit (losing).

It was all the QB’s fault. This is a Super Bowl team with Super Bowl talent and coaching everywhere once that pesky QB problem is fixed.

Or something.

The trend is down. Coaches don’t survive a low win year for a good reason. In Bbs case it’s by his own making I still expect a change.
You are not wrong that they are trending down and is why Carroll was fired back in 1999. But again, it's a bad look to fire Bill just because things haven't been good for 3 out of the last 4 years when you had 20 years of dominance and is currently a 7 billion dollar franchise (3rd in all of sports). It doesn't matter how Bill did it. He did it for Bob.

With that said, I do think some real changes will be made this off-season with the front office, possibly the coaching staff and offensive philosophy on personnel.

If Bill was the boss of Bill and Bill did this poorly as a coach in the 4 years since Brady left, then Bill would 100% fire Bill.

Bill isn't going anywhere and the fire Bill talk was just lip service to fans. Pats refuse to get blown out despite their offense, so the team isn't laying down. They'll beat the Jets next week.

With that said, major changes will be made in the off-season. The entire offense needs to be overhauled and Bill will have one more shot to hit on a QB.
Can't wait to hear Kraft say once again during the spring owners meeting: I'm the Pats #1 fan and I share with the rest of the fans the desire to see them win a playoff game. I believe that we can get it done this season. I have full confidence in Mac, eh, Bailey, umm, whoever Bill starts at QB to get the job done.

Pats are worse than the Jete. Let that sink in.

You are right, but there's a franchise within the division that is keeping their HC who is going on his 3rd straight 10+ loss season and have been blown out 6 times this season. Bob firing Bill is a terrible look.

Bill will be given one more chance. Who knows, there may be something in the works we don't know about and Bill is eyeing a team to get traded to.

Not necessarily. Of the teams w/ 5 wins only the NYG have a lower SoS than the Pats. GB winning tonight will raise their SoS. If these teams win next week, we may just drop to #4.

Giants SoS went from .509 to .511 w/ GB win. It could go to .519 if the above happens.

I can't believe I'm down to this ****.

This will probably happen.

They haven't been blown out since October 29th in Miami. From November to now they've been hanging around. Pats have lost only 3 games of 14 points or more this season to the Jets 6.

Kraft can't technically fire him as he's still under contract. Best case, they can negotiate a departure that includes Bill moving to another team that takes part of his salary. Worst case, Kraft eats the entire salary and keeps Bill unemployed for 2024. And what would be the appetite in 2025 for a 73 year old coach who had sat out a year after a 3/4 win season in 2023?
?? Teams fire coaches all the time when they're under contract.

What is going on here?

You guys are dropping down from an alien planet that has never heard of football.

I am not impressed with BUF at all
They’re gonna be one and done.
Buffalo is going to have to step it up if they plan on doing anything in the playoffs.

It’s like you guys have zero memory whatsoever.

Remember the 2018 Patriots? You know, the team that looked like garbage cans in 3 of their final 4 regular season games? Lost 2 of those 4 final games, and Brady was 54% for 126 yards and 2 INT’s in one of the two you won (and against a 5-10 team!).

They then went and won the Super Bowl.

Sigh.

That being said the Bills offense was trash today.

Short memory smh. I stand by my post that Buffalo needs to step it up in the postseason. If you guys play like you did today in 2 weeks it’s one and done.

Have you been paying attention to the massive amount of empty seats at Gillette the last home game? Have you seen the polls on TV and radio? The majority of the fan base is ready to move on. It’s not a terrible look to fire a coach/GM who has the team near the bottom of the league and 5 years since a playoff win.

Kraft wrote a letter to his season ticket holders last year promising them a better team. We got worse. He publicly said the expectations are playoffs. He’ll look bad if he doesn’t do anything.

Consecutive Games without Josh Allen throwing an interception: 0 (this counter has never been above 1)

Your lips to God’s ears! I would be ecstatic if we got a 4th for Mac.
No WRs, no OL, Patricia and Judge ruined the 2021 ProBowl sensation.

Sabotaged by BB.

I don’t really get your point though. He also scores a ton of TDs.

He is responsible for something like 85% of the teams TDs. He has a better TD/turnover ratio than Lamar.

I would take him in a heartbeat.

There's a reason the Bills haven't won. Its name is Josh Allen and his rocks for brains.

...and?

We weren't impressed with them either until their final two games and the playoffs.

The 2023 NEP suck. Your team looks like ****.

The Jills have a ton of talent but for whatever reason you can't put it together and win a championship
