Davon Godchaux in house

Smith was always perfect option for what Pats are building now. Loads of experience in run heavy offence from TEN.
Young, athletic, all over the field, YAC, RZ, HB - probably most versatile in that sense.

Perfect for Cam or future QB.

Essentially pats are signing all drew rosenhaus clients?

The Godchaux signing is at least as hype as Smith.

No one wants to come here... they hate their coach blah blah blah

Several posters have stated that with the massive OL and Cam, the offense will most likely be run heavy. Why would talented receivers want to sign with a run heavy team? I see this being an issue, hopefully it's not.
Run heavy isn’t run only. You may be talking a difference of 5-6 passes a game, but if you are a receiver having great play action and a full box gives you more opportunities to shine than a handful more dropbacks a game.

Barrett's base value is $17m per year. $18 included incentives and escalations
And you don't think that Flowers had incentives and escalations in his deal?

A lot of people were saying it.
People were mostly saying that players wouldn't take less money to sign here. Or if other teams offered similar money as the Pats, the player would go elsewhere for the better QB situation. Very few if any were saying Pats wouldn't be able to sign weapons if they paid the most.

Love both signings! Smash mouth football coming back. Hopefully a couple more additions on that front 7 upcoming to make this d elite again

Haven't heard much about Godchaux recently but I'm guessing the "up to" 16 mill part of the deal means that he's more than realistically going to be 5-6 mill a year?

Don't know much about him if anyone could share the pros/cons

Godchaux is a decent value signing at a good age. He should only get better. Tomlinson is going to get a monster contract and we have plenty of holes to fill.

I like both moves so far! TE and DL were my top two needs (after QB obviously), and these add talent to both groups. Still would like one more DL and a lower level vet TE, but next on my priority list are WR and LB.

Oh my.....it sure is fun being the "off season" champions.....

Good player. But is he worth that amount? I would’ve rather had Tomlinson.
Great addition. Plays a lot of snaps, more than our DTs have played which is good.
Need another one (guy?) and then find a 4th in the draft who can play small and rush the passer.
