Rumor from a friend in the know...

100%, show me a quote where Tom complained.

That's just it, this past season is full of uncharacteristic quotes from the GOAT. From the "ask Mr. Kraft" right after he signed his contract, to "I just play here" and "“I don’t think it matters what I think," he was unusually negative, especially after the release of AB.

I think TB knew the team wasn't going to make it deep into the playoffs with the offense they had despite their 9-1 start.
What I was actually referring to his actions on the field. But those quotes just add to the frustration. How many times during the year did we see Brady smirking and shaking his head after a WR ran the wrong route or failed to make a play? His reaction to the last deep bomb he threw to that first round pick summed up his rookie season.

But again, he’s not coming back unless the Pats strike first and sign a big time WR. The rumor of a 2 deal already in place that the OP is claiming absolute nonsense. You don’t don’t become a FA after 20 years only to immediately have a deal in place with your former team.

But I like his source better.

My source reports that s/he may have been emotionally harmed by your statement and it's possible that s/he will ask you to take it back some time over the next few months.

I wouldn't call it nonsense. I'd call more than likely. He wants a multi year deal. He's the best option for the team. The team is the best option for him to win. I think they'll figure it out.

Is it possible this could be true?

Doesn’t Brady get free rent from Kraft for his tb12 store at patriot place?

apparently that does not Count against the cap, but should be factored into why Brady takes less coin,

How does his Hulu deal factor in here

He’s either paying market rate rent or the Patriots are blatantly violating the CBA, so I’m going to guess it’s not free.

Can I just say, props for actually naming a thread "rumor from a friend in the know" gets 30 thumbs up for the pure unawareness of or disregard for the crap that any poster will rightly get for that thread title.

If it’s true, why isn’t it done? Just trying to piece this thing together. Put this poster in the Pats Hall of Fame if he’s right.

To be fair the rumors that came out yesterday, put the OP in the realm of believable. If the Pats are willing to go 30 mil a year for two, adding a 3rd "Option" dead cap year makes complete sense. Either way I am sure we will know come March 16th. Which happens to be my birthday, hopefully it will be a happy one!

Theoretically:

Would you rather have Tom Brady for the next two years with a guarantee he breaks the TD pass record, the passage yardage record, and extends like 800 other different records with the Patriots, or would you rather roll with a quarterback who is not clearly the future of the franchise (some questionable veteran QB like Mariota/Tannehill or assuming Stidham is a huge question mark?)

The championship window may or may not be closed. Brady’s final years would valuable to many fanbases, even if it hinders the rebuilding process slightly. I’m just surprised so many people think that the Patriots can save $10M at the QB position and just reload to contend. It’s like they bought into the Matt Cassel garbage.

Why would I care in the slightest about what individual records Brady may or may not break? I don’t care if he doesn’t throw a single TD and passes for 120yd/game because NE switches to power running game and has Brady mix in the occasional pass. Whatever it takes to win.

Do kind of hope they draft Moss and he becomes the first QB to throw a touchdown to a father and son merely because it's simply unlikely to ever happen again. (He's also thrown touchdowns to brothers, with Dan and Rob Gronkowski, and can't imagine there are many of those.) But at this point it's just stupid **** I care about like that.
