Sometimes it’s funny to think about these guys we destroy (just randomly quoting yours as the most recent). Think about the best athlete you knew as a kid, how far did he go? A guy like Newhouse, he’s a big stud in high school, plays great in college, gets drafted to the NFL, plays for the defending Super Bowl champ....what unimaginable heights! And we’re all like, KILL ME NEWHOUSE IS PLAYING WE’RE DOOMED
Just kinda funny.
Yep, for sure. Genuinely meant it was funny to think about, not a backdoor way of saying he’s actually great and we’re being mean. Just how stages of being elite are.Yeah but what's 53 x 26? 1300 and change? Almost 1400?
Thats how many players are in the NFL. And half of them are in the bottom half of the league.
I mean yeah, Newhouse could look great in high school, look great in college, and look unviable now... it is consistent. (I am not making the argument, but it is certainly no counterargument to say "look how good he was in college.") That said, yes, he could beat my azz.

He's also not worried about job security, ever, so its no wonder he looks like Alfred E Newman sometimes...Funny thing, Bill does not seem real distraught over all of this. Seems downright serene. Of course he is not a chicken little.
Oh, man! I’ve been reading the thread, confused as hell about who everyone is talking to. Why is no one quoting, who the hell is this in respons (get to your post) ohhhhhh. I see. Thank you for the clarification.Yeah, @oldrover what the heck is up with that? You've seen Deus posting here for long enough to know that the proper way to defend your position is to condescend and pontificate then insult. And if you are truly serious about it after you get de-panted in the ensuing discussion you put the offending party on ignore.
Somewhere, in some small midwestern town, lies a bust of Jake Bequette in a high school trophy case.Sometimes it’s funny to think about these guys we destroy (just randomly quoting yours as the most recent). I was just adding to the idea of undervalued players being legends in their hometowns. Although I was joking around a bit with my specific example, I certainly didn’t mean to disrespect anyone who has the guts to help our country through service, and have had several members of my own family who have made that sacrifice. I genuinely forgot that Bequette was an Army Ranger. That said, he was the kind of NFL player who fit the category of not doing well here, but is likely regarded as a great player in the town where he grew up.Right next to his picture as an Army Ranger in full uniform on the bottom of the frame is inscribed:
"do your job, work hard, be attentive [and] put the team first”
There is a fine line between fans analyzing and criticizing weaknesses and deficiencies and behaving as if the NEP are the NYJ and whining when they win 30-10I don’t understand the need to try and peer pressure moderate the board with these type of threads.
People discuss the Patriots, including assessing their strengths, weaknesses, and the implications of those down the road.
A board where all the comments are “go Pats” or “Pats are awesome” is boring.
Someone forward this to Brady.
Guy doesn't know how great he has it!
IMHO .....Or call me a liar again. Your choice.
Right, when you say everyone doing the first is actually doing the second you’re trying to moderate the board into mindless content. There is a fine line between fans analyzing and criticizing weaknesses and deficiencies and behaving as if the NEP are the NYJ and whining when they win 30-10
