Good to know you don't have a poster of this guy in your 2 TV set man cave.

No, I have a strict “No Queer Stuff Allowed” policy when deciding what to hang on the walls of my house. He would, unfortunately for him, fall into that category.

Oh god you think qb rating is a valid way to compare QBs?
Ok, no sense discussing.
What part of 'better numbers' was unclear to you?

The part where qb rating is a phony number made up to let people who don’t understand football have a vague comparison.
I consider 8-0 vs 4-4 a lot more yards, a higher completion percentage, a higher scoring offense more important than a lame useless formula.
I would also point our that QBR which is much more reflective of actual qb play and takes into account situations (like downgrading a bunch of passing yards in a blowout) has Brady at 60 and minshew at 39.6.

but if you want to believe Gardner minshew is a better QB than Tom Brady, as I said I don’t think it would be fruitful for us to discuss the topic.

I never said that. I said there isn't current evidence that he's a JAG. 13 TDs vs only 2 INTs is pretty damn good. He may or may not continue to produce. But if /you/ think won-lost is the be-all and end all of judging QBs, I invite you to put TB on the Jets or the Redskins.

No you said if minshew is a jag then Brady is a jag.

Not throwing ints by itself doesn’t make you more than an average QB. Being an average QB makes you an average QB.
Minshew has been thoroughly average. Brady has been top 5-10.

when did i say w/l is all that matters?
But it matters. A lot.

BTW, your fabulous QBR had Brady at 34.4 in a game in which he beat Dallas 30-6, going 20 for 27 with 2TDs and 0 INTs. Nice system you've got there. The QB on the losing side (Brandon Weedon) went 26 for 39 with 0 TDs and 1 INT and had a QBR almost twice that of TB at 66.9.

That is absolutely the only thing I need to hear about the 'QBR'. It's ******** made up by ESPN to try and make themselves seem more authoritative.

I’ll stick with my opinion that Brady is better.

I'd go back to Foles, but be ready to yank him. Can't deny what Foles has done the last 2-3 seasons even if Minshew is making a real good case for remaining the starter.

Stick with your QBR too?
Well it’s certainly better than passer rating.
But it had little to do with my assessment. I threw it in because of seem enamored with passer ratings.
Btw do you have a link to those individual game QBR numbers because I cannot find it anywhere I looked.

Minshew is the closest thing I've seen to Tom Brady's story. Impossible not to root for the guy.

Also reminds me of Kurt Warner .....

Little context here. Minshew is a 6th Rd pick that basically climbed up the great wall to get where he is. You just dont see guys in the 6th Rd come out & do whats hes done. Not coming off the bench when the team isn't exactly built around you. Foles is a great story as well but again you know what you have there. Its nothing special long term.

Also as Kontra brought up his pocket presence is just superior to Foles. Accuracy doesn't take a hit. Smart as a whip w a personality you can't help but gravitate towards.

The biggest cheat code in the NFL is having a QB on cheap deal/rookie deal. The flexibility you get is unmatched in terms of cap space.

Very interesting decision coming up but I'll be rooting for him every step.

Cool thread & articles to get to know him better. This is a different cat. Someone who is book, street & field smart.

Gardner Minshew is the league's most interesting QB
Gardner Minshew nearly gave up on NFL career to coach under Nick Saban ...

While I strongly believe no one should lose their starting job to injury, our experience In New England has taught me that that rule should not apply to qb’s.

Foles has had an interesting career - can’t seem to find a home in this QB-hungry league, despite being a proven commodity, and clutch in the postseason.

Do not underestimate just how much the locker room loves Nick Foles.

Why? have you never played this game before?

to be beaten out of a starting job by someone who is better than you is one thing, to lose your starting job because you got hurt and replaced by a guy that you beat out before you got hurt is wrong and sends the wrong message to the locker room.
