Watching them play the Colts right now. They looking rather mortal so far.
That and I wonder if the Colts may end up being pretty tough. I hate the Colts but I like to see Jacoby in the beginnings of a strong career.

I don't feel the same level of hate for the Colts other than remaining DG bs.

**** everyone except the Pats

Lacosse looks awful. And while Izzo had a nice game, that's not who he is.

Hopefully an ancient Watson will be a nice improvement.

Lacosse dropped a pass and caught one. But his second half blocking was much better than it has been. I'm not high on him though.

Izzo played well, making two nice blocks in the second half and a tough catch in the first. I'm not sure we know "who he is" yet.

Overall another good game by Brady with the INT really being the only stupid mistake in the game. Yeah he missed Gordon but then there were also a couple of drops.

That's three endzone picks in the last seven games for Tom. His INT % in the Red Zone is lower than all other parts of the field other than inside his own 10, so hopefully its just an outlier.

Code:
Field Position Attempts Int Percentage
Own 1-10 301 5 1.66%
Own 1-20 1244 25 2.01%
Own 21-50 4122 73 1.77%
Opp 49-20 2941 56 1.90%
Red Zone 1314 22 1.67%
Opp 1-10 652 11 1.69%

When the entire OL struggles, including formerly stout players like Mason and Cannon, you have to wonder about the impact of losing Andrews' line calls. Are the individual matchups they're losing simply not matchups they should have been facing to begin with?

Also, with over 200 posts in this thread, Jake Bailey's name has yet to be mentioned. First-ever NFL game handling both punts and kickoffs:
7 KOs all for touchbacks, 6 punts for 46.2 yard net average. That's a day's work right there.

The thing is, it's not just Andrews, IMO. It's Andrews + Wynn + Develin+ Gronk + Allen. None of them have been replaced by a player who's even close to their level (at least as of now), and Cannon is obviously not yet back to 100%. And I think we're seeing that impact. Karras can't pull in the running game. Newhouse is Frankenstein the bullfighter, trying to play left tackle. Johnson is still learning the position, and is not ready to do all the things Develin did. So Thuney and Mason have to pay more attention to helping out both the center and the tackles next to them, and Mason's doing that while injured. And that's all magnified even further, because the TEs suck and can't hold up on the edge, and the FB is nowhere near as impactful as the FB he's replacing.

Crazy game. The tale of 2 halves. I'm not sure what was happening in the 1st half. As some have speculated here did they consider that a practice session to work on some things? Pass, pass, pass, be dammed what the results are? Try some plays to see if the personnel could make it work? See what they can and cannot run effectively against poor competition? Or was it simply half-time adjustments? Or did the Redskins run out of adrenaline?

Hopefully Dorsett will be back this Thursday or can take the time off and be 100% for the Jets game. Darnold should be back by then.

What's wrong with Mason? He hasn't been on the injury report has he?

I was thinking the same thing yesterday during the game. It's gotta be Andrews making the rest of the OL better.

good point about Bailey.

And when you talk about a shanked punt with a 39 yarder the expectations are already high.

In the BB era, is Gruden’ termination the first head coach firing immediately after a Pats thumping ?

The players to his left and right are struggling a bit. That tends to destabilize things up front.

He is struggling mightily himself in individual matchups

Not a head coach, but the Pats did cause Fireman Ed to quit.....
