James Develin on IR

If a crystal ball could predict that Wynn, Harry, and Develin are all capable of returning healthy and the WR group remains intact, would think it’d be Wynn and Develin returning.

If someone like Edelman or Gordon goes down though, all bets are off. Same if another key player is IR’d that’s able to return.

Wynn seems the most likely returner of the three at this stage.

tough choice.

Patriots FB James Develin's neck injury isn't thought to be season-ending, per sources. The Patriots will have to decide between Develin, Isaiah Wynn and N'Keal Harry. Only two can come off of injured reserve.
Wynn obviously and Harry IMO assuming they’d all be available to return. We lose one of our current receivers and suddenly we are thin and will need him.

LOL

16-0 AFC Champs
13-3 AFC Champs

12-4 AFC "Finalist"
12-4 AFC "Titlist"
12-4 ""

Hard to call us cursed "per se"

"Cursed" is a strong word. Coincidence maybe.

The more I think of it, I'd choose Wynn and Harry (If Gordon relapses they need insurance).

Wynn is an obvious choice to come back. Harry vs Devlin depends on how good this new kid does and if Harry can pick up enough of the playbook while on IR

Michael Crabtree was released. Just an FYI.

This is a huge loss. Looking back at the films of last year, almost every short yardage situation had him plowing a path - - he was money. Given the OL problems.........

This is a big loss.

If its not season ending why put him on IR? Do they really value that roster spot that much over someone like Develin, harry or wynn?

I agree. It makes no sense.

Why not just keep Develin on the roster if he can come back this year.

Our inactive list has healthy players.

Odd year eh ... On to 2020

You do know that it's just people's flawed perceptions about the odd/even crap, right? I showed this in the Wynn thread.

Can see Harry staying on IR if they like Meredith enough.

If Brown was still around it would make things easier from a number of different perspectives

Good points on Meredith he's on the NFI list and can come off at anytime.

We gotta be ready, I think this will be a tough game on Sunday.
It will be the toughest game of the first half of the season. Too many pundits have been saying the Patriots have a cakewalk until game 9. The Bills are a tough football team designed to beat us with hard hitting and ball control offense.

With our inability to run, the game is going to be a slugfest unless our defense can create multiple turnovers. The only way I see us winning by 14+ is if Michel and the offensive line have a return to form that allows us to sustain balanced drives that help keep Brady upright.

New season, we've got time now to adjust.

We might be forced to carry Three TE's now and run some heavy sets. We would have Playaction at our disposal with Watson in the fold. This would take some of the pressure off our WR's and keep our dept there fresh.

All of wynn, Develin, harry have week to week injuries. Makes no sense that bill would place them on IR to keep a spot for someone who will never play.

Not good. Three guys on IR. Only two can return. Who will it be?

This franchise is cursed during odd years. At least we know next season will be a SB year. Also, odd years mean the AFC title game is at 3 p.m. Patriots have lost the last three SB's after winning the early game (AFC championship). Last three times the AFC title game has been the late game (Even years), they've won the SB.

This odd year fallacy thing is ridiculous. People seem to forget about 2004 when the Patriots lost Ty Law and Ty Poole. Not to mention Adrian Klemm and Tom Ashworth.

Look at 2016: Gronkowski, Jackson, Vollmer, Lewis, Brissette, Roberts
Look at 2018: Wynn, Bentley, Sam, Michel, Izzo, C. Hollister, J. Hollister, Hill, McCarron, Burkhead, Berrios, Rowe, Sam, Schwenke, John.
