Well she hasn’t exactly lied under oath yet, nor has she filed any sort of false police report. IMHO the whole thing is just one big bluff to try and force a settlement. This case never sees a courtroom.

Hilarious to see the difference between your take on Tyreek Hill and Antonio Brown.

For one, it was guilty until proven innocent.
The other, innocent until proven guilty.

Funny what the homer mindset will do.

When it benefits the Patriots, of course the woman is lying. When it hurts any Patriots rival, of course the player is a scumbag.

By the way, I agree with your take here — I think she’s just trying to get some money. Who gets sexually assaulted by the same guy three times? And she was at his house watching TV after the first time? They clearly had some sort of relationship that went sour.

It’s crazy this game is sitting a -19.5. I think we’ll win, but doubtful we crush them that badly.
It’s obviously a crazy high number, maybe the biggest ever? But honestly I don’t see how we win by less than that. I don’t really see Miami scoring really at all, and just by sheer virtue of having so many opportunities the Pats will continue to put points on the board. They get 30+ easily, and the Dolphins will be lucky to score more than 10 to 13 points. So I guess the way the dolphins cover, something like 31-13? But that’s about it.

Players and coaches are paid to win, not earn social justice credits from plant based eaters and their soy boy Twitter comrades

I eat far too much meat for my own good and I'm still a libcuck SJW soyboy pansy, so you might want to reevaluate that hypothesis.

At first, I was on the fence with the AB signing but decided it was really no risk, all reward. If he implodes, cut him. No big deal.

Now that it is obvious he is being railroaded, I am all in. Doesn't make him a good guy. But even self-absorbed, crazy, douche bags shouldn't be falsely labeled as a rapist.

Why do so many Patriots fans worry about what other people are saying? The team could field a 53 of choir boys and still be hated like no other. Chiefs fans, Colts fans, Felger, ESPN, oh nooooo. The team I love is hated by a **** load of strangers. That's awesome!

Cutting AB because of some fear of a mythical distraction would be an epic ****sy move. And given Kraft's summer of love, a tad bit hypocritical.

My advice is to seek love in your personal life, the real world. And let's not get bent out of shape about long AB threads distracting anyone of importance. I am now more clear on the definition of "arbitrary" , have taken a closer look at the art of squirting, and have been enlightened on the meaning of life and human morality from reading that thread.

If you look at Brown’s reckless behavior over the last few years, this is probably a personal low for him. I’m sure that he is upset about how the Steelers situation played out with management siding with fat Ben, upset with this allegation, whether he’s guilty or not, and displayed incredibly depressed behavior in Oakland. It seems like the guy is embarrassed by his behavior, hurt, and has struggled to deal with his fame and power, like a lot of Steelers players who become completely ungrounded.

So I’m saying that Brown really needs a “finding Jesus” moment right now, and there’s no better team in the NFL than the Patriots for this. Most organizations cannot take entitled, spoiled millionaire athletes with Hall of Fame talent and take away their hubris, but the Patriots are more successful than other teams. People appreciate Josh Gordon, who came last season with similar “baggage” or Randy Moss, who also had a supposedly anti-social, uncontrollable ego in 2006. Aqib Talib was thought to be unsalvageable, and he still talks up the Patriots for his career turnaround (wanted to come back last year too.) Word gets around with these players. They understand organizations are very different.

Unless Goodell blows this up, you’re most likely - based on previous Patriots dealings with these players - to get a Hall of Fame receiver who is thankful that the Patriots signed him when his life was going off the rails. I don’t know if that will lead to a long-term extension or not, but it’s going to lead to stronger chemistry in 2019-20. My only fear is that he gets suspended for the postseason, and/or that he is actually guilty, though I think it’s unfathomably stupid and corrupt the way the NFL handles this stuff. that they are considering the Exempt List based on virtually zero evidence suggests this is going to be a bumpy ride.

is Brown even ready to play?
How quickly he picks things up remains to be seen. He is their shiny new toy and will be force fed the McDaniels diet and be used as much as he can absorb. Was impressive with Flash last year, although I forgot he took a week before playing. Still, The fan in me expects action Sunday. When I get a cool toy, I don’t spend a week reading the instructions.

Why should we care?

The guy hated Big Ben and the team that sided with the pock faced dim wit

Why should we care?

AB engineered his way out of Pittsburg like many modern athletes today
Welcome to the world of professional athlete serfdom and their quest for more freedom.

AB engineered his way off a terrible Oakland team he was traded to

Why should we care?

His antics were simply a means to an end.

For the most delicate, don’t look at the mess in the kitchen if you want to enjoy your meal.

AB was just recently hit with a civil action....not criminal charges

Why should we care?

Civil actions are skirmishes over cash, nothing more

Talk to me when handcuffs get slapped on
——————————————————————
Now.....

Why BB cared so much to sign AB......

The Patriots are currently part of a 2 team battle for AFC supremacy and KC has the most potent offense on the planet that can drop 31 points in a half

The Patriots lost a major focal point of their offense to retirement

The Brady window is closing

Then there’s ......The Patriots are rarely in a position to acquire such elite talent given their value metrics. BB has been so desperate to bring in elite pass catchers he has taken his search to rehab clinics (Gordon) and infirmaries (D. Thomas).

So let’s review...

BB has replaced his generational TE with a top 2 WR who cost NE 33 cents on the dollar ($10 mill vs $30 mill) and no trade chips in order to win shootouts vs the League’s highest octane offense in order to secure a #1 seed and avoid returning to KC where an offside penalty decided the last contest...... and Brady’s window is closing ....,yada yada

Big picture folks

Remember.....NE was only 11-5 last year....not a world beater for most of the season

So when BB is up on that podium holding his ground while taking shrapnel from the mediots..... keep in mind our leader has surveyed the landscape and has decided he needs this clown-child to not just compete but to insure success.

Score points
Prevent points
Win

Everything else is noise

I’m with Bill

Great recap, borg. My last post on this subject was EIGHTY pages ago when I had thought that this topic had finally reached a point that comments had started to repeat themselves. If you had written this recap 80 pages ago, it would have been appropriate.

I have no idea WHY this thread has gone on for this long, nor do I care to go back more than 3 pages to find out. Seems like its the same stuff we talked about then.

Here's the important things to remember.

1. It all happened when he was playing for PITTSBURGH!

2. Its a CIVIL matter. One party trying to get money from another for actions the other supposedly did.

3. Both parties in this suit have flawed positions. Clearly this isn't clear. ;)

4. Nothing I've read so far should (though I did miss 80 pages, ;) ) should disqualify AB from playing.

5. He's clearly an idiot, and I wouldn't my daughter go out with him, but if idiots were banned from their jobs, then the unemployment rate would be over 30%

What’s flawed about AB’s position? As far as I can tell it’s completely consistent with the facts available. Her position is almost certainly not consistent with the facts available. For instance she says it was a professional relationship but there’s videos of her in bed with AB.

I agree it was initially a bluff to force a settlement. This lady and her attorneys should know that once these papers are filed, a settlement cannot happen. The damage is done to his reputation and career now, and he gains nothing anymore from settling. He will just be presumed guilty by the public and the public leg-humping NFL.

Wow. Way to represent women.
It is not my job to represent any woman or judge any woman. I have a strong dislike for females in general ( Bad experiences). So this entire thing is weird for me. Because I know that this society is MOB rule. You are not allowed to have a descenting opinion in peace anymore. Land of the free indeed. So for the most part I keep my opinions to myself. And I don't tolerate bullies. This world is full of bullies. You try to bully me, my response will not be kind. I was not pleased with this signing to begin with. I got talked off the ledge but now, this guy just makes me sick. He better be worth the distraction.

You may hav missed it in all the fake news and insane frenzied speculation regarding Brown and the Patriots, but there actually is a locker room that’s in the toilet on Sunday, and it’s the team in white and teal.

Funny how putting a patriots jersey on seem to have turned Brown from a d-bag on his way to a mental institution into a misunderstood genius.

Yes, everybody deserves due proces.
Yes, her story seems fishy.
Yes, the emails/texts do make Brown look bad, rape or no rape.

Serious question: Why would anybody put themselves through all of this **** for 75k? Are people really that insane?

Edit: wiser posters than me have clarified that 75k is just a minimum to take it to court. She'll seek more than that.

How could he be. His first practice was yesterday. I say sit him out Sunday. I would say that regardless of the accusations. Why take plays away from guys who have been working there butts off (Dorsett) and deserve to be out there, to force feed a few plays designed for one guy.

Let next week play out. If he does not get put on the CEL then he will be in better position to actually contribute. That will be a stretch also. It is going to take him 2-4 weeks or more to be on the same page in this Offense.

I would consider taking the moneyline on Miami which is probably like +1500. If the Patriots fail to blow them out, they’re still playing in that crazy mirror house in Miami where they always lose to way less talented teams. But yes, provided they aren’t psyched out like they usually are there, the spread seems right to me. You literally have the #1 team in the NFL against a team that is probably one of Vegas’s lowest ranked teams ever.

Who has claimed AB is a “misunderstood genius?” Can you show me a single post claiming this?

Serious question: Why would anybody put themselves through all of this **** for 75k? Are people really that insane?

Many people work 8 hours a day every day for a year for less money so the idea they wouldn’t file a piece of paper for that money stretches belief. And of course we know people do file lawsuits for no reason other than to make money so it’s certainly a possibility that should be considered.

I haven't waded through this whole thread, but it seems significant that the Miami Police Department reports that it has absolutely no record of this accuser, or any other accuser, ever contacting them about Antonio Brown

Miami PD say they do not have any records, reports from Antonio Brown's accuser

That’s not uncommon in sexual assault cases. Many victims do not file police reports for a variety of reasons

That’s not to say he is/isn’t guilty of doing something inappropriate. But the lack of the report doesn’t tell us anything in and of itself

I don't believe he took the field during pre-season with the Raiders........it's not just hitting the books, it's being physically game-ready

Plenty of posts suggesting was just acting crazy all this time, so he could join the patriots. Read through the raiders thread and then the newer threads and tell me there's no difference.

I never suggested 75k wasn't a lot of money. Just seem like a small price compared to what you'd have to go through. And let me just add to that, no amount would make it okay or worth your while, if you're lying. Was just surprised by the amount.

The thread kind of spun out of control because

75K is a minimum to file ... they can and will seek more or not depending on how it proceeds.

I say bench him this week - and that has nothing to do with my fantasy team going up against him this week whatsoever...
