Chris Simms was paid by boosters at Texas...

It absolutely happens everywhere. Without knowing for sure, my best guess would be that Alabama's boosters spend more than most. That won't change if student athletes get paid in any currency other than a free education either. The cream of the crop would still get that little bit extra.

I'm sure Tom Herman ( the new coach at Texas) is really happy about this...NOT If the NCAA investigates, he and his program will pay the price for stuff that happened under Mack Brown's watch....
Simms took the money and I have to believe he didn't really need it unlike other players who came from lesser financial backgrounds...

Chris Simms was even in the top 10 paid booster-paid athletes while he was at Texas.
He was recruited based on his name. Never really outperformed Major Applebee, who I believe is coaching football.

I don't care about this, but in combination with everything else he's said and done, I definitely feel more justified in wanting to punch him.

I typically have a long drive home from work. I listen to the Dan Patrick show (podcast). I looked at the list of names yesterday and saw ****head. Hell no, I don't believe anything he says.

This times 1,000 (except it's Major Applewhite, not Applebee :D).

Taking money from boosters could be considered, by some, as a form of cheating...?? It certainly affects the integrity of the game, right Chris?

I wonder if anyone ever paid Brady because I'd like to know if there were people who had faith in him at that age.

That P.O.S. constantly dragged Brady's name through the mud about Deflategate. What he was doing was far from honest and then to say "everyone was doing it". Please, I hope someone in the media calls him out.

Somewhere, Mark Brunell is crying, I'm sure.
Every time I see Mark Brunell's name I think of the hike to Faulk where Brady provides the deceptive jump.......every f'ing time man. Brings a smile to my face.

The Michigan boosters were all in on Drew Henson, pressuring Lloyd Carr to play Henson rather than Brady. Presumably their money was going to Henson as well.

Yeah. Figures. But what if there was 1 person. It would be a great story.

Being against the rules doesn't make it immoral. Colleges make tons of money off of these kids I don't think the moral fabric of society would unravel if they got a slice of that.

Obviously the problem is the hypocrisy of this in light of his comments during the most recent framejob. But really he's proven to be a piece of **** happily willing to say how awful things are that we know were similar if not identical to the things his father did if not he himself. So this doesn't change much for me.

I really liked the Brown pick but my biggest fear was that Texas left a lasting mark on him when that program was a complete mess during his time there. Inmates running the asylum type thing. Just not a good culture.

I find it absolutely amazing college athletes aren't paid. Colleges are empires built off these athletes.

Simms is such a piece of ****.

t.u. should get the death penalty.

It happens and nobody is harmed so bring it out into the light of day, imo. Plus maybe some of these kids will stay in college longer if they're getting enough $$ to help out their family rather than leaving early, failing to make it in the NFL and ending up broke and without a degree in a world of shrinking opportunities.
