He plays hard

He's a great teammate

He's got good character

He's the #1 Q rating NFL player in England

number 5...uh...wait a minute...it'll come to me...um...has to be five, huh?...give me some time will ya?

The job title is QB. Either win the job or you're a nice guy that didn't.

Someone give me 5 good reasons why Tebow should make this team...

lol didn't see your post. Only needs one reason. He can come in and play QB and win games. Not gimmick QB, real passing QB.

1. "He beat the Steelers!"
2. Err... he beat the Steelers!
3. "He just wins!"
4. If you think he shouldn't make this team you're just a hater, biased, etc. etc. etc.
5. Did I mention "he beat the Steelers"?

Sounds a lot like a water boy.

OK...let me add on to my training camp observation...

I watched Tebow get reps for a good hour that Monday and I came away with his throws are OK down the middle, much less accurate and the ball tipped upwards when he throws to the left...non existent anything when he throws right.

I just quickly fast forwarded from his work tonight...I can't find a pass he threw to the right...they ran to the right a few times...a couple of screens...but he didn't throw to the right...he missed long on a few throws off the fingertips down the middle as we all saw...and he wasn't very accurate or as accurate as you HAVE to be on throws of any length to the left.

It's his first real playing time in over a year. If he can clean up his throwing motion on the move to his left and improve his accuracy, that could be good enough to keep him as a 3rd QB. It's obvious they do not want him throwing to his right whatsoever. THIS is what the Patriots do, they maximize the part of a player's game that works and they shytcan the rest. Also, I noticed Tebow was thinking a little too much in the pocket...his reads have to improve..it has to be 1, 2 then break off a run. He was hesitating a split second too long and got taken down when lanes opened up. It's practice, practice ,practice. I think he'll get the entire preseason to work on his strengths.

I know the majority of us just want nothing to do with all this Tebow hoopla but in a vacuum, you HAVE to recognize he has certain strengths that are NFL level.Let's see where more hard work lands him...

He went to the right with the long pass to the endzone when he rolled out. He missed a TD by about 6 inches.

As for the rest, reason doesn't matter at this point. The anti-Tebow zealots are just pissing on yet another thread.

1. Josh McDaniels still thinks he can make a player out of him

For better or worse. Just accept it.

I'm not anti-Tebow. I wish he was good, but he really isn't. He is SO SLOW in making his reads. I agree that he is good on a run up the middle, but how many of those can you do? He tried that against the Pats when he played for Denver, and once they stuffed him, it was over. I think it is a waste of a roster spot to keep him. If we ever have to put him in as the 3rd QB, forget it.

Josh McD should just give up the dream and move on.

I rarely if ever agree with your posts. However, I think this post was a fair assessment of Tebow.

Someone give me 5 good reasons why Tebow should make this team...
1. Tebow leads the team prayer
2. Tebow sells jerseys
3. Tebow is Josh McDaniels' Frankenstein
4. Tebow completely ruined Mark Sanchez
5. The Butt Fumble is the football highlight of the decade (by the hand of God .... oops I meant Tebow)

What's even more concerning aside from the fact that he simply cannot hit the side of a barn is that he wasn't remotely successful running the ball either.

I think some of us expected him to at least contribute via some specialized run packages, sort of like he did in DEN.

As Deus said, he'll likely make some improvements in some areas so that's something to keep an eye on down the road. I still think he makes the team for sure, but I have to admit that I'm even less excited than I was initially after seeing this game. Let's hope it's just "one" game...but I am skeptical.

As much as Mallett struggles also, at least we know that he will complete some throws downfield at times.

I disagree, I don't think he was awful per se. He's a developmental QB. Mallett has had years to learn the offense. Whereas, Tebow has had only a few weeks. Anyways I am ready to move on. I hope to see improvement from Tebow in the future and I hope he can continue to help the Pats win games.

He can't even run the package that was designed for him...

C he completed 33% of his passes for 55 yards in a preseason game against 3rd and 4th string players on a team that went 4-12 last season. He was awful buddy; lets call a spade a spade.

I disagree. But I am assessing him as development QB. I am looking for improvement not greatness yet. He has a lot to learn and a lot to improve on. Overall, for me personally he wasn't awful.

Of course you dont think he was awful. You are the biggest Tblow homer imaginable. You are an embarrassment to Tebow and this site. If Tblow wasn't on this team you would not know that this forum existed. You are a blind, lemming, Tblow follower and know nothing about the game.

I was kind of dispirited by Ridley's run. He had daylight, should have taken it to the house, but didn't have the top-end speed like the elite backs do. That run alone told me where he stands among backs in this league.

And by that I mean, he's great for this offense. But he isn't a burner and doesn't have that potential. He would have roasted the D if he had it.

5. The Butt Fumble is the football highlight of the decade (by the hand of God .... oops I meant Tebow)

Best thing I have read in the last 24 hours.

I'm willing to give EVERYBODY a shot, especially considering that players that are off the radar tend to do better up here.

I honestly hoped Tebow would show more tonight, but was again sadly mistaken. He can't get it done, and when it's down to the wire, he tries to run it.

I'm a nobody, but I think he'd work better at RB or WR.

I would LOVE nothing more than to make Tebow a productive part of the offense.

You're wrong and your comment about Mallett "learning the offense" is irrelevant because of the lockout last year. What is relevant is their play and if Tebow can only utilize two sides of a football field then that gives the opposing defense an advantage. The Patriots are not going to want to give any opposing defense an advantage by dictating which area of the field that Tebow can use because of his limited skill set.

Mallett is really in his 2nd pre-season because of no OTA's and limited training camp last year. Please stick to the facts rather than conjecture. I am re-watching this game on NFLN on Monday. I will be watching Tebow and Mallett closely.

SO TRUE. Tebow is an embarrassment. That ridiculous 'playground' ball he plays must be so painful to watch for a perfectionist and master-of-his-craft like Brady. The Patriots are too professional and too dedicated to excellence to trot a big oaf who can't play to save his life like Tebow out on the field. This is something the Eagles or Jets would do; not the Patriots. Tebow needs to GO.
