Who do we draft #3 overall ?

I'm in favor of moving down if it's a relatively big package and the Pats still can draft a top prospect at a different position, like OL. There's a lot of holes on the roster. A porous OL and lack of elite WR/TE targets will hamper QB development anyway and make it too high risk.

3rd-Year Starter Mac Jones vs 3rd-Year Starter: Another Guy(s)

Just read this analysis of Mac Jones I thought was interesting: https://www.nbcsportsboston.com/nfl/new-england-patriots/nfl-execs-explanation-for-mac-jones-struggles-makes-a-lot-of-sense/556982/ “It does look hard for him [physically],” says one top executive from a team that played New...

    Judon and Gonzalez injury discussion

I think they've done fairly well in identifying top flight talent at their 1st round pick. Specifically for top 10, Belichick only did it twice and they were good ones: Seymour and Mayo. It gets complicated to assess a team's ability to pick when you consider player injuries and attitude. It's...

Report: Patriots attempted to reacquire Stephon Gilmore this offseason

How hard could the Patriots have pushed if they couldn't beat an offer of a 5th round pick? It's no big deal either way whether it's totally accurate I guess.

Campbell: Mac Jones Crossed The Line

Are you all sure Calais is referring to trash talk? My first thought was it was due to stuff like this: Mac Jones' timeline of dirty plays: Patriots QB earning reputation for trend of questionable incidents

Game Day Thread Official Game Day Thread- Pats @ Bills

Myles Bryant is currently responsible for 2 touchdowns. Too small and weak to tackle on the kickoff return and too slow to track back on the throw. He just needs to be outjumped now for the trifecta.

    Damar Hamlin Updates

This has been known as a complication of Covid since the beginning, and occurred in patients before the vaccine was even available.

    Damar Hamlin Updates

Certainly a worry, but it looks like high quality CPR (strength, frequency of compressions) was performed almost as soon as Hamlin needed it, with restoration of pulse relatively quickly. It's all rare, but one encouraging comparison would be Fabrice Muamba. He had CPR performed for 78 minutes...

    Damar Hamlin Updates

It was almost certainly commotio cordis. Whether or not Covid contributed in some way is certainly possible, I would think, given the cardiac conduction system disease it can cause. I don't know why you and other posts I've seen are so hung up on overly precise age ranges and exact mechanisms...

Game Day Thread Official Game Day Thread- Bears @ Pats

Probably TMI but I've been feeling nostalgic lately. It feels like the world is slowly falling apart.

Game Day Thread Official Game Day Thread- Bears @ Pats

Just saw the Zappe throw to Jakobi Meyers on a replay at halftime. The angle was from behind Zappe. It would have been a perfect throw if Meyers had just kept running in the same direction.

Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Browns

Maybe it's as simple as playing a position he's never played, not adjusting well, and losing confidence on top of it. I remember in the 90s when Kevin Gogan switched guard positions from one side to the other he said it was actually really difficult.

Mac Watch [Very Old Thread from 2022]

Regarding Peyton Manning, I honestly had no idea this was either perception or reality. Is this commonly held? I thought Peyton Manning had a great arm. After the late neck injury it was painful to watch him throw weak, fluttery balls for a few years with the Broncos, but prior to that I...
