2027 Watch List

If I was a betting man, I'd bet good money on Darian Mensah winning the Heisman this year. He was 2nd in yards passed last year (behind Mestermaker), going to an offense that likes to pass and has one of the better young WRs in Malachi Toney, and brought his favourite WR, Cooper Barkate, with him from Duke. The only downside is his lack of wheels.

With Notre Dame's piece of cake schedule, CJ Carr would be a good bet too.

Reed Harris, WR, Arizona State
6'5", 217

Transferred from Boston College and will pair with Omarion Hampton this year which sounds lke a potentially exciting duo.

He had zero drops last year. you can see why in the three clips below.

It all depends on how Kyle Williams performs this year as to whether he can prove himself to be WR3, but I have been excited about the prospect of getting Charlie Becker as a first round possible next draft. The trouble with that is, a first round pick is a lot to spend on a WR3 and it means sacrificing a first round pick on what looks to be an awesome defensive class.

I do think Reed Harris could be a Charlie Becker lite. Good speed, great hands and catch radius, and 6'5", 217.

So you want to fix the linebacker room. I'm going to give you a choice which I think is nicely balanced and I want to know which direction you'd go.

Option 1

Kynggston Viliamu-Asa/Sammy Brown plus Tony Rojas

Option 2

Ray Coney plus Ben Roberts

Both options net you a plus MIKE and a plus WILL. However, KVA/Brown are currently rated higher than Coney but Roberts is rated higher than Rojas. Option 2 does have the current advantage of allowing you to go in a different direction with the first pick.

Either of the choices makes us better. At this point, Option 2 seems more doable than Option 1.

So much will depend on who is available, and what happens in FA. Both are good options.

Brown and KVA very appealing. I think Chris Cole has the potential to join them. KVA and Cole offer so much versatility.

I really struggle with this one, especially if an equally good player at a more "premium" but lesser need position is available. Would I take Brown/KVA over Will Echoles or Ellis Robinson IV? I don't know.

I'm just about to post about Chris Cole (see below) but I've been having an internal debate today about Brown v KVA centered largely around versatility. I cam to the conclusion that I don't need versatility from my main linebacker piece, I want a direct replacement for Spillane - someone who is excellent as a MIKE. So I lean Sammy Brown for that reason. It's still neck and neck with KVA but edge Brown for me. He's a sub 4.5 linebacker with a wrestling background. It's not as though Brown's ceiling is limited.

I do think i like the idea of luxury pick in the first and both Roberts and Coney on day 2. That still leaves us in need of a CB and a safety so, as you say, free agency will play a big part.

I think if it were today I would go defensive BPA. My current defensive big board is something like:

1. Leonard Moore
2. Colin Simmons
3. Dylan Stewart
4. Ellis Robinson IV
5. A'Mauri Washington
6. Will Echoles
7. KVA
8. Sammy Brown
9. Ahmad Moten
10. David Stone
11. Yongzhae Pierre
12. Zabien Brown
13. Kelly Jones
14. Jelani McDonald
15. Tae Johnson

1-3 are no-brainers but will be long gone.

I think I would prioritize dominance at DL or CB over LB in the 1st, but not sure.
