OT: Cuts that might interest the Pats

They should be looking to steal from talented teams practice squads rather than sign these jag castoffs. I'm sure there's probably some good young players out there who could help.

They can't "steal" players off other teams' PS. Except for someone who's used up their standard elevations and has to go through waivers, a PS player has to be willing to come here.

And when they come here they go on the 53 man roster, for at least 3 weeks iirc.

That’s why we are in this situation, right?

If that's what it takes to float your boat on the situation, that's on you.

Trash teams make bad decisions. Keep that in mind.

Exactly the first thing that came to my mind as well. I don't think basing decisions off of a franchise that had their owner meddle to force the decision of Bryce Young over CJ Stroud and is now benching Young just two weeks into his second season is a great idea. The Panthers are all over the place and I would not trust their player evaluation capabilities at all.

That being said, I believe KJ Henry is being cut from the Bengals PS and not the Panthers. That would mean that we did not put in a claim for him on cutdown day after he did not make the Commanders' 53 man roster.

I wonder if anything has changed since then that would cause NE to have interest. IIRC, he had a nice sack against us in the preseason matchup - although he was a free rusher that we completely forgot to block on the play. I also saw a couple of Washington fans upset that he didn't make their 53. He intrigues me the most from the players that you listed in the OP, I think he would be a good one to bring in for a look.

Bryce young is in a terrible situation. Terrible Goof ball owner, a HC that looks lost. The kid was never set to succeed there. His agents should seek a trade.

Some media person suggested a trade today where Young goes to the Rams, the LOLphins get Matthew Stafford(!!) and the Panthers get picks from both teams.

I also heard sports radio talk of Tannehill possibly going back to MIA. It's very interesting I'll say. I don't think Young is long for the team. I mean that team Is what you call a expansion team for real.

Cracks me up thinking about how much of the 2nd dynasty was filled with players that the Browns - the 0-16 era Browns - cast off or gave away.

Without even looking anything up, off the top of my head, Jason McCourty, Danny Shelton, Barkevius Mingo, Jamie Collins the 2nd time. I know there are more. None of these guys were world beaters, but they all filled their roles well with New England after the Browns didn’t know how to use them.

Why would someone turn down a promotion, the chance to play and more money?

Wednesday The Patriots signed rookie defensive lineman Jamree Kromah to the active roster from the Chicago Bears' practice squad… not so far fetched after all.

I agree. It isn't far-fetched. We are always looking at everyone's Practice Squad. Kudos to Wolf for this signing.

After losing Judon, Bentley and Ximines, we are so desperate that we are signing someone else's UDFA scrub and having them on the active roster for 3 weeks even though we expect Mapu and Takitaki back in a few weeks.

That being said, we should always be looking beyond our 16 Practice Quad players to those of other teams, and we should also be constantly trying out free agents. We have been doing those things and will continue to do so. The difference today is injuries at LB.
=========
To be clear, the team doesn't believe that anyone on another Practice Squad is worth making active for 3 weeks on our roster.

Here's an example of someone who did just that. I think in some cases it comes down to "Better the devil you know."

The three-week rule doesn't apply if a team elevates its own player.

Being in a locker room with good chemistry and chance of game day elevation to a well coached winning team,
Versus
Joining a dumpster fire loser with unproven coaching that might set your career back?
