Interesting to see Tua open up on his view of Flores. Yet he was a very successful defensive coordinator for us. Was there ever any feedback from our defensive players that matched Tua's take?

"A terrible person..."
Dafuq even if every word is true why the hell would you ever put that out there in public?

Sounds like Flores graduated from The Great Santini school of coaching.

Happy for Tua

And before anyone calls him soft, Tua was coached by Nick Saban, and even grew up with a dad that used to beat him.

There's a big line between hard coaching that holds a player accountable to help them perform better... and constantly ****ting on a player to the point where you erode a player's confidence, focus, and esteem for your own personal satisfaction.

And that's a line that these Belichick assistants always cross

All I know was that Tua was a massive failure when he had average to above average offensive line/weapons…..Flores and other coaches tried to replace him with several QB including Bridgewater and even Tom F’ing Brady……Tua was heading for Bust town…..and THEN …..miracles of all miracles …..Miami signs the human cheat code Tyreek Hill…and Hill single handedly saved Tua career….just throw it out there decently and Hill will do the rest! Then he gets Waddle who also is amazing…..You give ANY QB Tyreek Hill and he will get record stats for himself! Will be interesting if Hill gets injured!

If true, Flores tried to use the BB school of coaching TB12, who responded with the greatest NFL career of all time. There's studies supporting negative reinforcement can be more motivating/achieve a better result than positive reinforcement (i.e. the FU, I'll prove you wrong factor).

Part of a modern HC's job is finding out what motivates their players. Tua didn't respond to that type of coaching. Non-story for me.

My only question of concern: have any of these guys that complain about being mistreated by Flores or Patricia or McDaniels ever won when the going got tough? Stafford I think is the only one but Stafford has said in precise detail in the past that he had a very good relationship with Patricia and that he was always in Patricia's office.

If you really can't handle this kind of tough criticism, I'm not sure you have the belief in yourself to perform when things get really tough. AFC Championship, down in the 4th qtr, the pass rush is putting a hurt on you, and you have to lead your team.

Tua really hasn't proven anything in the NFL. Neither has Carr from the Raiders.

There’s a difference between criticism and ****ting on someone. Tia played and excelled undef Saban who’s known as a tough coach.

Why not? Flores made Tuas life hell, why does Tua need to protect him?

It's not about protecting Flores, it's about Tua. Saying Flores was a jackass is one thing, calling him a "terrible person" just makes Tua sound like a whiny *****. Understanding YMMV

College is not the NFL, and do you think Flores said those words verbatim? Tua was using hyperbole. No one would say "You're ****, you suck, you're worthless." I remember Bill O'Brien laying out Mac Jones on the sidelines, like, "How the eff did you make the same mistake over again? How is it possible you're not learning to correct your mistakes?" That might come off as, "You're absolute ****" but it's not the same thing.

How do you know how or what Flores said? Flores reportedly didn’t want Tua and was trying to trade for Deshaun Watson. We weren’t there to say Flores was just trying to coach him up. Maybe Flores never wanted him in the first place (as reported) and was a prick because the QB he got was the one he didn’t want.

I think it’s more the fact that after Tua just signed a huge contract extension he’s comfortable telling how he feels and wants it out there for any other team considering Flores as a HC in the future.

Dolphins screwed up not drafting Justin Herbert. Flores might still be the coach...

Because no one would say those exact words.

Those days are over.

Bledsoe said that Tuna was relentless. It was common old style practice.

Today's players don't respond to this treatment anymore.

Some do, some don't....just recognize who does and doesn't. It's not hard unless you're a lazy ****.

I'm not aware of any coach who treats his QB like Tuna handled Bledsoe or in this manner.
