Wonderful scoreline to wake up to this morning! Watched some of the highlights back and read some of the stuff from the local writers - always great to win divisional games and especially against good teams which the Bills undoubtedly are. To do it in that manner though is even better.

It's also fair to say that the Bills have had one glaring weakness this year which was recognised by some on here, and that was facing off against good running teams. They've given up 7 YPC against the Titans, 6 YPC against the Colts and just short of 5 YPC against us (with it being over 6 YPC during the game I believe at one stage).

That's a problem.

Would be funny to slam them with 35 pass attempts in a few weeks.
Not outside the realm of possibility. Let's see what the New England weather does however. Nor-easter maybe? 12 below zero? 75 and sunny? All possibilities.

I think they had more throws in the game plan, but when Jones badly sailed his first throw to J. Smith, and they saw they could keep the ball on the ground and do some things plus had the lead, they stuck with the ultra-conservative, protect the rook offensive approach.

Or the fact the entire league knows Buffalo can't stop the run. Heck, they were stacking 10 and 11 men in the box and still couldn't stop the Pats.

I genuinely believe that if, as a defense, you know that the other team is running the ball on every play that you shouldn't be giving up 14 points.

youre still not going to completely shut them out especially if theyre a good running team. Id expect a good defense would give up 7-10 points. So 14 is probably slightly over what they should be giving up but really not ‘embarrassing’. It was not a fair question imo. Ages ago this happened more often and people definitely still scored.

Since I never go in the GDT anymore, just thinking how it likely went...

Scapegoat-o-meter for last night (between 0 and 10 with zero being "will never get called a name other than his own again" and ten being "must be traded or released before sunrise"):

Godchaux - 1 - dominated the Bills OL last night, but didn't have all of his tackles be for loss so he still cant get a perfect score.

J. Smith - 2 - had the best Patriots catch of the night by far (wait, how many catches did the team have?), but also had one of the lone holding calls Vinovich's crew threw and didn't get 94 yards of YAC after said catch sooooo.....

Harry - how does one score this? He basically single-handedly gifted the Bills their only TD with one of the worst special teams plays in years, but also had one of the key blocks that sprung Harris for the Pats only TD while having several others to seal the edge allowing a more balanced run game overall. Naaah, we still hate him around here - 9.

Williams - INC - gave up a long pass, but it didn't really result in anything so how does one score that anyway? File for a continuance with the Judge that's how.

McDaniels - 6 - End of third quarter - Bills gap pressure scheme looming - just got the wind back - easy TD by air right? Right? Can't the Bears just have him now?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know, I'm being super-ornery, but the Pats won a super-ugly game in the worst conditions...are the #1 seed when all the pundits (professional and forum based) excoriated the manner in which the team was built and still continue to say they're not very good personnel-wise...while they successfully ran on a 10 MAN, single high safety BOX ALL NIGHT...I'm just sitting here wondering how anyone could possibly complain about this team (but also know ultimately they will and vociferously)?

cod domination
That word choice should have an entirely different connotation in New England...I'm picturing my Grandmother stalking through the Chesterfield smoke haze of the kitchen trying to get the gas oven to light just so we could all "enjoy" baked cod for dinner picking bones out of our teeth and drinking more ginger ale (kids) and scotch and sodas (adults) as we could to try and moisten the dryness of it all.

Still funny they think they did their job by letting the opposing team score more points than them. You're post made me realize that they actually blamed the offence with their response. Loving it.

no, they actually gave credit to our rb’s. And i tend to agree, if we did this game plan against most teams other than the elite fronts like tb we would probably manage to put up double digits over 60 mins. Probably Wont score 20 but i doubt a shutout occurs

I posted “Good game” a few pages ago.

Feel like crap.

Diggs drops a game winning TD.
Knox drops multiple first downs.
Breida fumbles a ball where he wasn’t even touched.

They all sucked.

Didn’t deserve to win.

Only one who deserved a W was Allen.

What Allen was doing in that hurricane was insane.

I'm sure others have already addressed this, but what a classless reply.

The Patriots deserved to win, and did, despite getting absolutely shafted by the officials. That 35 yard field-goal Bass made in the 2nd half should've come from 50 yards, but was bumped 15 yards forward by that atrocious penalty. If Bass kicks that from 15 yards further out, he very likely would've missed. That was as bad of an 'unnecessary roughness' call as I've ever seen.

You pranced around here all week, arrogant and condescending. Once the outcome is actually determined, you pull out excuse-making and moral victory stuff.

Diggs didn't drop the ball. The pass sailed wide because of the ... you guessed it, the wind. Allen was good, but far from the messiah out there tonight.
Knox dropped passes? Probably should've caught them, then. If your team doesn't play well, don't be surprised when they lose.
Breida fumbled without being touched? So did Damien Harris and N'Keal Harry. The Brieda fumble is completely wiped out by the Harry punt-return sequence, so that gripe is a non-factor.

Candidly, Bills fans have zero legitimate right to complain about luck/bounces of the football after benefitting on the scoreboard from that atrocious penalty they called on Bryant.

As for Allen's insanity, he went 15-30, 145 yards, 1 TD. He played very well considering the circumstances but was far from perfect. He had throws which were affected by the wind, and clearly Buffalo's offensive approach was limited due to the weather. Credit to Allen, but I don't think he elevated himself to a different plane. With more playing experience and physical maturation, I don't think what Allen did (particularly with the wind at his back) is anything beyond Mac's capabilities in the not-so-distant future.

The only team deserving of victory is the one that scores the most points, which was the Patriots. The Patriots are now 9-4 with a two game and head-to-head advantage over the 7-5 Bills, who now have to play Tampa Bay next. Lol.

Happy GIF

Just watched the game ....a great performance and game plan. Standouts for me was Godchaux and Rham. When Rham made it through the gap he was a big handful , just so hard to stop.
