Rams Fan (come in peace)

I think Goff has had enough games to figure it out without Cooper Kupp. Kupp was absolutely the most productive Rams WR. I was very impressed with the way Goff handled himself in New Orleans. That environment alone was brutal.

As far as the Rams defense...the weakness absolutely is the linebackers and run defense. Kamara had a monster game receiving, and I think James White is a legit threat this game.

I fear Sony Michel more than anyone though. The tear he has been on is worrisome. I know we stopped Ezekiel Elliot, but I feel a lot of that was because Dallas was one dimensional. We weren’t going to let Zeke beat us. I think Michel has a big game.
Honestly, fear our OL more than Sony. Sony is a good fit for this team because he has exceptional vision, especially for a rookie. But our OL has been on a true tear that we haven’t seen in a long time. Michel does a good job of taking what they create and fighting for a few extra yards

Like you may have heard from a few people, the composition of your defense is somewhat scary. Elite interior DL is tough to scheme for like we do for edge guys. Plus Brady can’t step up in the pocket and avoid the rush like with edge guys as much. If the interior rush gets there, it’s not like he’ll roll out and create a play (usually)

Still the weakness at LB and apparent (I don’t really know) weakness at covering slot WRs gives me confidence. If donald and such are winning their matchups, perhaps we can rely on the old quick game to backs and slot and win that way

As a long time reader, I am aware that you are just playing a role, and I find it slightly amusing. This is a poster from another board who has no clue about how awful Boston media is and wouldn’t understand your sthick. Fairly respectful first post really does not deserve this and I know I like seeing an insightful other teams fan POV. Lllloyd for example is one of the best posters on here even if he does root for the whiny, me first, biotch squeelers.

Looking forward to a good game. Feel pretty confident but we’ll see what happens.

If Rams can get pressure up the middle and stop Brady from stepping up, it would be huge for your team. They are going to have to play the run like they have the last 2 games which I’ve found impressive considering they were giving up 5 ypc up until then.

Patriots have also had a resurgence on defense, the secondary has played good in all facets and team defense vs the run has improved. Gurley will be the test of the season and for some reason I’m thinking Woods and Cooks are going to have a good game if they concentrate on taking TG&CJ away.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by. Good luck.

What's the line on Cooks running around in a circle until someone breaks his jaw or trying to hustle a guy 2 feet taller than him?

The advantage we have us BB and his years of knowledge, I dont care how smart your coach is 33 years old doesnt have the knowledge base. We lost to three teams that had extensive knowledge of our system and BB. That's the advantage we have over your team along with BB. Good luck and enjoy the game.

I’ve been monitoring the forum for the last week or so, as I have been awaiting my approval to post. I hope you guys don’t kick me out of here to quick lol.

I realize there aren’t many Rams fans out there, and I haven’t seen any come to this board. I’m from Missouri and grew up during the GSOT era. It killed me when they moved away, but it was still the same group of players and I had no reason to abandon ship.

This game will hopefully be sweet revenge from 01. I think a lot of you guys are underestimating this Rams team.

I’ve read a lot about how much respect you guys have for Aaron Donald. I’ve seen how little Goff is respected. There seems to be a lot of confidence that the patriots D is going to hold up.

I understand why most don’t fear Goff. Most people can’t get over the Goff they saw under Jeff Fisher. One thing I haven’t seen a lot of talk about is the play-calling of Sean McVay. McVay is our biggest weapon on offense. Considering the noise won’t be near the factor it was in New Orleans ~ I would be surprised if the Rams didn’t score 30.

My biggest question is how will our defense hold up. While talented, they have been very inconsistent. They seem to have kicked it in another gear over the last few games.

Should be a great game..nothing like having your team in the SB. It’s a fun week. We aren’t used to this lol. Prediction Rams 34 Pats 24

If I were you I'd plan on purchasing your Super Bowl championship jersey now. They'll be sold in Ethiopia for a discount. Get'em before they run out.

Connection to team is more about the connection to players . If they move it's not players fault.

I've been a Patriots fan since the mid 1970s, and the players really just come and go. My connection is to the team rather than the players. The only player for whom that might have been different is Brady, but he's still a Patriot.

Welcome. I was on the Rams forum and considered signing up, but it required more information than I felt comfortable giving. In any case I would ask a similar thing when it comes to your team and your fans. I know your offense had a hot start but overall it has been lacking recently. You needed an all time running day to put 30 up on the Cowboys and only managed 23 on the Saints in regulation. I just don't see where the confidence in your offense comes from that it will score 30 or more.

I know they have talent but lately it hasn't translated to points or a bunch of scoring chances. I'm not saying your offense is bad but I don't see it as the kind where you can lock in 30 points vs a decent defense as of late.

That is the main reason for my confidence. For a number of reasons your offense hasn't gotten it done vs good D's lately. That isn't to say they can't win. But I see their path to victory in a lower scoring game in the 20s. I haven't seen many Rams fans comfortable enough to predict that. Don't get me wrong. I could see the Rams getting in the 30s with a defensive score or a turnover deep in our end. However baring something like that I don't see it as likely. To me that is a big problem for the Rams when facing us.

As long as you’re not some troll who comes here to be a jerk, this forum has been pretty welcome so far. As least to this Jags fan.

Also I don’t know why you root for the Rams still. Y’all got hosed by Kroenke. Guy is a massive tool

Kroenke was a scumbag before the move too.

Following or liking a team because they practice closest to where you live is fine and typical, but it can seem like a superficial criterion if you think about it.

While Brady has earned his respect and claim to being the greatest of all time, it's also amazing how he had to win 5 Superbowls before getting it. After winning 3, everyone said he was a "system QB" and still went on to tear up the league. After all the BS cheating scandals they tried to use to discredit him and yet he's still playing for another SB. STILL, there are those out there who won't give him the respect he deserves. So forgive me if you are puzzled and miffed why your former 1st overall pick that has been a fair to good QB in his short career with numerous offensive weapons doesn't receive the credit and respect you feel he deserves.

It may seem like folks are underestimating the Rams but for me it's more the confidence I have in TB12. IMO the Rams will be the biggest challenge of the year for the Pats. The ability to bring pressure up the middle is huge. I also think Goff will pose a bigger problem than Mahomes as he is willing to take a 4 or 5 yard gain to allow for 2nd or 3rd and short. Mahomes is an 'all or nothing' type of QB. Throw in the over the top speed and the running game and the Pats have their work cut out for them.

Last years SB was about to be a victory but snatched by a great play. I don't see that happening 2 years in a row so I like the Pats in another heart attack, down to the last minute victory.

I think the difference between KC and the Rams offenses are the coaches. While Mahomes is far more talented than Goff, I think McVay has a better offense than Andy Reid.

If the Pats stop the Rams running game that will go a long way in stopping the Rams offense. Goff isn’t the same QB in known passing downs. McVay is very tricky and unpredictable in his play calling though. If Gurley and Anderson can combine for atleast 120 plus yards...I don’t see the Rams scoring under 30.

The one that we saw on the road (yes, even the AFCCG--31 pts in one half is pathetic) this year, or the one we saw at home this year.

Always funny to see weird viewpoints like this. The AFCCG was the best defensive performance of the season (with the Chargers being the second best and the first Chiefs game being third). Holding that offense to 0 points at half is absolutely bonkers. It was a great game by the D unit with the only really disappointing drive being the FG at the end. We overcame a 3 turnover (2 INTs and the stop on 4th) deficit on the road. Sometimes the expectations around here are absolutely silly.

Goff is still pretty inconsistent, he can make some plays for sure, but his completion percentage is all over the place. If he is going to beat the Patriots he can't be throwing under 60% completion rate. The guy can be widely inaccurate.

If Gurley and Anderson can combine for atleast 120 plus yards...I don’t see the Rams scoring under 30.

As a lot people around here will tell you. Forget the yards. They might have 200+ yards and still dont score more than 25. It is all about the 4 point plays in the redzone. Settle for FGs against the Pats and you will be screwed.

Welcome to the board.
You started out right for a good response and Patsfans doesn't kick many posters off, certainly not the respectful ones. ('If Jetsfan79 can make it (stick) here; anyone can make it here!').

Hey, what the?
