Wow, a lot of bitter fans in this threads apparently wearing rose-colored-glasses on Tom Brady's deep ball in his younger years....because 2017 was easily one of his best years. Hell, Brady's performance in the Super Bowl (like, 7 months ago) must've featured more 20+ yard passes, and fewer dink-n-dunk passes, than I've ever seen from Brady in any game...(and that's after Cooks got injured too)...let alone in the playoffs, vs a legit D, at that. No joke, that game must've been the most unusual ratio of short vs deep passes that you'll ever see from Brady. Certainly didn't see anything like that in the '07 post season. So, it's never been his strength, but Brady's "drop-it-in-the-bucket" touch passes got much better in recent years (since Garoppolo got drafted, I'd say) and it peaked just last year. Cooks opened up the offense, but Brady was throwing to every one last year. We'll see what happens if/when Gordon gets on the field.

No. The point is to have a few studs, and surround them with role players. The Pats have an entire defense full of guys that may not even make the title of role player.
