It’s ignorant to make fun of someone’s name. When I was in high school a student was constantly harassed because of his name. I got to know him. In his native country it meant strong and brave but the way it was spelled here was derogatory. He became a good friend and person. Be nice to people, unless he’s diving at our qbs knees and tearing an acl.

He is Vietnamese and his name was Dung. It is pronounced totally different though. More like Young. Most teachers knew it’s was the students that bullied him a lot. Still was top in our class and became a doctor. Just want to put it here in case anyone runs into a similar situation.
