I feel it man I feel this team so far has given me a whole nother love for this franchise on top of what I already have I know they say anything can happen but I Swear To God this team will win the Super Bowl, what we are seeing is a TEAM with unexplainable CHEMISTRY that wins Championships (Hell look at the reaction post Legnel TD), We are In the driver seat fellas and are in for a big ride, I'm so ready last time I was this confident was '14 and even '14 does not compare to how I feel about this years team, You can never break the heart of a champion LETS GOOOO!!!!!'

P.S I will post back In this thread after Super Bowl LI

I was at the game and you are right....several players from both sides of the ball and coaches all sought out the big guy following his TD grab.....it took him almost 5 full minutes to get to the bench.

I later heard Lengal discussing how in the weight room and in meetings it's all about doing one more thing to help the team win...so much so that he said even when he goes home, puts on the TV and hears Patriots, he pulls out the play book to do more.

It is obvious BB likes this team and has them playing as a team......something that looked impossible following the trading of Collins and issues with Sheard.

Fun team to watch, seems to be a great group of guys led by the best QB to have ever played the game.

It's time for the next one, in Houston please.

It only matters if they win the games. Plenty of seasons I was as confident as this year.

I am more confident this year, 1 they are more of a balanced team this year. They can run the ball multiple ways and of course they can chuck it deep or short accurate YAC yards. And the defense is playing good. I don't put as much stock in PPG this season only because of the teams they played but regardless the defense might not be great but its definitely very good. And very well might be great.

Also i am not scared of the competition in the AFC this season. I just think the Patriots are the better team in the AFC this year, they are the cream of the crop.

This season unlike last season the Super Bowl should be the best match up of the playoffs.

what i worry is that maybe i'm too confident. i feel like no way in hell afc teams can beat us at home in foxboro. but i felt the same way about 2010 team.

I feel like this team is reminiscent of the 2010 team but BB been thru the sh*t so I feel very comfortable going forward, I know BB has the right game plans going forward this time round

worst team in the league averages fourteen points a game, that's two touchdowns a game.

It's been over two full games since a touchdown was scored against the Patriots. Total of six points in the last two games.

that's pretty special.

I have not felt this way about a team (from a personal likability and camaraderie aspect) since 2004.

However I would say 2014 was probably just a hair better than this team (it had a better O but worse D slightly. Less options but a Healthy Gronk is huge. Butler is better than Revis was in 2014 particularly down the stretch and i like our front 7 more. It stops the run consistently and gets more pressure). 2014 had tougher opponents in the playoffs. The 2014 Seahawks was a borderline wagon (but so were the Pats that year) and the Ravens that year when healthy looked really good.

I look at the 2014 field vs the 2016 field and i find the 2016 field lacking (all due respect to the other teams).

I feel more confident about this teams ability to win cause though i think it is slightly worse it will have an easier path. People forget that 2014 team beat the 2014 Seahawks who in the NFCCG came back from a 7-19 score to tie it up 22-22 and win 28-22. They were that kind of team. Really not enough can be said about that Seahawks team's toughness resilience and never quit ability. They had a ton of talent and knew how to win and were clutch. That was a hell of an opponent.

When I look at this year I don't see a team like that we have to beat. There are good teams but i don't see a team another team and think "they would probably be a super bowl champion most years" or "This team feels on par with us". The Pats can't play their A+ game and still lose. Hell I think their A or A- game is pretty lose proof this year.

I feel exactly how I did about the 2010 team, and that ended terribly. But I was 15 and that was the first season I paid close attention to, so I'll give myself the benefit of the doubt here. I know I'm biased, but I really do feel like we have a much better defense and run game this time around.

However, I think if this team falters in the playoffs, it will be for the same reason as 2010: inexperienced young players. It does not matter who we play. If the Patriots show up, they win. If they lose, they probably beat themselves. It sounds like a generic ******** post-loss excuse, but that's just how I see it for this specific situation.

The 2010 team should have won it all but choked. This team should win it all and if they don't, barring unforeseen calamity like Brady going down (even that might not be the final nail in the coffin with Jimmy), it must be considered a choke.

What Belichick said postgame in the lockerroom sent chills down my spine.

"We've been hearing all week about how the Patriots can't come here and win in Denver....but not this team!!!"

The slogan of 2014 was "On to Cincinnati", it was all about resilience and perseverance in the face of setbacks... 2016 will be the year where a team that was maligned and criticized, chose to believe in themselves and write their own chapter.

"Not this team..."

Please don't take this the wrong way but I would say you didn't see enough Pats teams or football yet so i think your not judging it as well as others can. It is not that you are not smart enough. Purely an experience thing. That 2010 team was good particularly on O but the running game was so-so and the D though good on paper had injuries and the secondary was suspect. The offense was championship caliber (though it was 1 dimensional pretty predictable with limited options that were good) but the D was not.
The team could have won in a VERY weak year... that year was not particularly weak for other teams.

The D and run game are both better this year as is the passing game for that matter even without Gronk. This run game has a more diverse back field and the OL has better run blockers. Also the backs are just plain better. Blount > BJGE and White/Lewis > Woodhead.

Also this D is better particularly at CB. We did not have a #1 CB in 2010. McCourty did well of course but he had holes in his game that i think started to get figured out near the end of 2010. Also our safety play was not near as good. Take it from me this D is better and more apt to not be scored on or let offenses stay on the field as long as they did in 2010 (or 2011 for that matter)

The offensive line is the real key difference I see. Brady is staying upright and the run game looks good. The team having to play 4 games without him was a good thing, it led to more a team atmosphere rather than Brady and the Patriots.

Honestly every year with BB and Tom has been special. We are spoiled rotten.
The D and O line turn arounds has been fun to watch this year. Without Gronk I don't know if we will go all the way but I think we are still likely to.

Us going 3-1 the way we did without Brady spoke volumes about this team/season imo

I would say in a completely average year this team would just barely not be the favorite to win. Maybe the 2nd best team in a pack of 2-3 other contenders without Gronk. However the key is this year is pretty weak I think. I can't say for sure but just from memory i would say this is the weakest year since 2006.

i agree special year, and team

only negative is Gronk not being able to finish it out w/ the team, but thats football

Yea this team is built to win the Super Bowl but I do miss and wish I could see Gronk out here doing his famous Gronk Spike but I know he's watching and shouting and our team has him in their minds as we continue our journey for the 5th Lombardi

I hate to say it but I feel like Gronk is done. Just too beaten up to count on for a season. A bright shining star but to me he is like a retired player.

We just have to manage him better instead of thinking he can play a full season just limit him through out the year and let him loose during the playoffs which is what this year proved is that we can still run the table without him
