Report: surgery for Gronk

I haven't read the whole thread yet but...Am I the only one that is not too bothered by this news? We finally actually have some other weapons on offense. I don't think this team lives and dies by Gronk like it used to. I mean it sucks, he is a special player but I think they will be fine. I'm more concerned about the defense down the stretch against tougher teams.

Instead of a lot of 2-TE sets w/ Gronk/Bennett, expect a lot more 3-WR sets with Edelman, Hogan, Mitchell/Amendola. More White/Lewis as well

I can live with the post Gronk Offense.

Too brittle. This news's tough. How much guarantee money does he still have left in his contract?

One of the dumbest posts I have read in a long time. Did you really just compare the 2001-2004 teams to the current one? Have you seen our current defense? Those defenses were just as important as Brady back then.

The 2001 defense was 6th in points and 24th in yards. The 2016 defense is 3rd in points and 14th in yards.

Except in 2001, 2003 and 2004 Brady won with less. With Lewis back and Bennet there is hope. Have faith my friends. This team will fight. I am sad that Gronk is out but I still believe in this team. They are in a better position than 2013.

In 2001, 2003, and 2004 the defense was good.

I don't think this is season-ending or anything. They might not be the favorite to come out of the AFC anymore, but they still aren't far from it. The defense is going to need to get its **** together, though.

F*CK.

8 weeks?!

That was 2009.

Thanks, I guess I mixed up my AFCCG's. I still think they have the team to get to the SB and a Gronk return for it would be s huge boost to them.

Trading a.j derby doesn't look too good right now. The depth's not to good right now.

Let's be honest.

Don't blame Thomas - - it was a perfectly clean hit.

Blame Belichick and the medical staff for putting him out there unnecessarily on Sunday.

It is an inconvenient truth. Earl Thomas did his job and he did it honestly. The Patriots committed malpractice.

I love the Patriots. But honestly, if he sued them for this, He should clean their clocks in court on this.

You have virtually no knowledge of the sequence of events. But obviously that does not stop you from making uninformed pronouncements.

Again, I'm not blaming the Seahawks for the hit. It happened in the game against them, so I'm letting off steam.

But is it also possible that Gronk and the Pats agreed that he felt fine enough to practice the day before and therefore go forward in playing? I don't rule out his part in this.

Just very frustrating. I firmly believe 2014 was special in large part because Gronk was Gronk all year. Especially Gronkish when it counted.

We are lucky Brady avoided a catastrophe.

His price just went up a lot.

He's good but not gronkowski. This team might have to draft a tight end. Now like others i don't think gronkowski's finishing his career here.

And, unlike in 13, Gronk still has a chance to come back in the end. (As far as we know)
I guess. But i seriously doubt he comes back to play 1 game with minimal practice, just for his own sake I hope he doesnt. But we still dont know the details yet so wait and watch.

No, it won't. It will be due to poor performance from both units, as is usually the case when they lose a playoff game.

Yep, the offense scored less than 20 in seven of Brady's nine losses (plus a VERY soft 21 against the Jets).
