Should Pats extend Brady?

I still want to know who he is and how reliable his sources are. Remember that he's the same guy who claims that "It's not out of the realm of possibility" that the Patriots start fighting for the 1st round pick back.

He's cap friendly now.

I'm not a cap guru but if he can chisle away a little money and that help lock up High, Jones, Freak and Butler then ok
Not really afraid to let Jones walk. He's last on the list although I wouldn't mind him coming back.

I have no problem with him walking for big money as they will get a 3rd rounder in return as well as another season out of him. If he gets a big offer after next season then he had a big season and that would mean good things for the Patriots as well as allow for the development of Flowers to replace him.

I can understand letting him walk but if they can retain an edge rusher under a cap friendly deal then they are better off

If I were Brady, I would tell them to make it cap friendly IF...he gets an offensive line that actually blocks, and a real #1 deep threat WR.
If they going to use cap savings on a deep threat WR, I'd rather them not redo his deal. Deep threat WRs are vastly overrated especially in this offense. Brady isn't Jump Ball Joe Flacco.

Team never at any one point in the season had the OL they wanted to go with. Which was Solder-Kline-Stork-Wendell-Vollmer. People forget 3/5 of the OL that won the SB was gone after Week 4 this year. Connolly retired Wendell had some type of injury, Solder went out injured. And then you had Stork missing 7-8 games.

as for the 2nd one. no just no, the team doesn't need a deep threat, waste of money. It needs a guy that can have a season like LaFell did in '14, that's all.

Can't agree enough with this. They just need a guy that can do what LaFell did in '14 and Brandon Lloyd did in '12. A guy on the outside that can get open consistently 10-20 yards downfield and catch 70-80 balls.

I am not sure how it could be any more cap friendly than it already is.

If they are re-doing it, it will add years but probably won't move the dollars down significantly.

Safe to say this offseason will be about re-signing the defense we've build and bringing in new talent on offense. Also curious if a Brady extension would result in possibly trading JimmyG and getting a cheaper (in terms of draft picks) backup QB.
