I hope we make him a primary target this offseason. He is having a very good season with 4 sacks in 8 games and he won’t turn 28 years old until June 2014. I think he is the perfect player for this defensive line able to play 3-4 DE and 4-3 DT while remaining solid against the run and the pass. It also helps that he is Chandler’s big brother. The Patriots did bring him in prior to the 2010 draft.

And the All-Jones defensive line is nearly complete...

Agreed. Have thought he's a potentially strong candidate for a while. Would like him to be an inch or two taller but so long as he comes fairly cheap, if they don't renew keep Tommy Kelly, he'd be a good replacement.

Manx wanna remove Chris Jones in the line up for Arthur Jones? Or in what position would you use him?

Play Chris as a one gap nose and put Arthur at LDE with Chandler at RDE.

Or

Play Jones at RE, Jones at Nose and Jones at LE. At least I'd get that prediction right

And before anyone tells me off saying that Chandler and Chris are too small for the respective positions, I'm just playing along with the notion of a 3 Jones line.

Arthur is a more complete player than Chris, and has more of a track record. His play last season was impressive as well. But cost of upgrading from Chris Jones to Arthur Jones going to be worth it? Ultimately, neither is really a "starter" unless paired with the right guy. And the right guy is not a similar player.

I'd figure Arthur Jones will command 3-4 million dollars per season AAV. With so many other uncertainties (cornerback, interior line, nose tackle),that's a real bad investment.

The Raven I really would like to have is rookie NT Brandon Williams. But what's done is done...

We could also sign Michael Jones-son from the Bengals. Too much?

It would be fun to have brothers on the line and he is a pretty good player but he isnt a break the bank type of player and I dont see why the Ravens wouldn't want him back and despite a tight cap could likely fit him in.

I dont think he is someone to covet but would be a nice addition but depending on the status of Vince and Kelly moving forward may not really be any for him.

he is much better than Chris Jones against the run.
most ravens fans think he'll want more than they can give him and i dont think he will be cheap but would certainly help a lot with wilfork being a ?

Play a 1 gap 3-4 and we'd be golden

If they were willing to pay him it would seriously bolster their interior DL, but it would mean playing 4-3 almost all of the time, which isn't a bad idea with Spikes almost certain to be gone and Higthtower moving to ILB full time with Collins and Mayo outside. Wilfork, A. Jones, T. Kelly, and C. Jones would give them an excellent interior DL and would allow them to focus elsewhere in the Draft.

Kelly is still a really good player and I believe he has at least 2 quality years left, and this kind of rotation could really help extend both his and wilfork's careers. A. Jones and Wilfork on run downs and Kelly and C. Jones on passing downs would be ideal.

I had not looked at free agency at all to this point but as far as maximizing free agency this would be an excellent move, it would shore up interior DL completely and allow them to use their draft resources at the skill positions. If they could sign A. Jones and Talib they would be in excellent shape defensively, they can find a run stuffing ILB to replace Spikes, although his big hits would always be missed. The more i think about it the more i really like this idea.

We should draft DaQuan Jones or whatever his name is.

And then Adam Seward?

he was one of the guys I wanted when he was Drafted back in 2010 in the 5th round, but now that the pats play a full time 4-3 and have there own jones who is a better pass rusher and still have wilfork coming back next year I don't think its worth giving out that kinda the money for him I want the pats to re-sign Aqib Talib

Pretty sure Johnson will be the Pats #1 target this offseason if the Bengals aren't able to resign him. There were rumors that he would've been the #1 priority last offseason if he wasn't franchised. Somehow getting him and Talib signed would be best situation imaginable.

Why would they not keep Kelly?
