BB at tonight's National Championship Game

Fox just showed Bob and Mayra Kraft in a private box with BB and his girlfriend. My first thought - they're trying to woo Urban Meyer into accepting the OC position with the Pats knowing JMD will be named HC in Denver.

Remember earlier this year, maybe during the Pats bye, Kraft was in Florida visiting with Urban Meyer . . .

BB and Urban have become very good friends over the years and yes, Bob did spend time at one of Urban's games as well as Urban makes a trip up to training camp each year here in New England.

I think their relationship started when saban took the Dolphins job so BB could have a college coach to pick the brain of.

Also, take a look at Urban's "spread" offense. Where do you think BB got the idea from? Not Charlie!

Every year for the the last three or four years, Belichick and other members of the Patriots staff have spent much of January in the Florida facilities hanging with Urban Meyer. I wouldn't read into it.

Although the Pats do run a modifed version of Meyer's spread offense (I think the Pats got the base shotgun formations directly from Meyer), I don't see him jumping from Florida to take a OC job.

no, but his contract is up in 2013 , , , and one wonders, with Brady nearing retirement at that point, one wonders if BB will ride off into the sunset after 2013 . . . i hope and doubt he will, but it would be great to get a Grade A coach as a replacement when he retires . . .

It's fun watching this Florida offense -- the smoke screen they just ran really reminded me of the type of plays the Pats ran these past two seasons, but then there's a bunch of gadgety rushing plays that just wouldn't cut it in the NFL.
