Amazing trivia question with a twistCool stat: Since 2010, only 3 teams have not played in the Wild Card round: Browns, Buccaneers, and you guessed it, the Patriots. That's parity
I buy the AFC Champions shirts, just because. I started that in 2011.
I do NOT buy the AFC East stuff. Really, what is the point? The NFL can talk about how important division wins are, and they are. But they aren't t-shirt buying worthy for fans.
I moved from New England to DC in the mid 70s when George Allen had put together a Super Bowl team. Allen was followed by Joe Gibbs (after a brief appearance by Jack Pardee) who had a great run in the 80s. Still, I was never tempted to stop cheering for the team I had followed from their inception in 1960. The Snyder era Redskins make Billy Sullivan's Patriots look classy.Yes that was the easiest decision I made when I moved from NH to DC. Took one look at what Dan Snyder has wrought and gave renewed thanks for Robert and Jonathan and what they’ve built in New England.
Too late, look 5 posts back.FYI .... since 2010, 3 teams have not played in the wild card round
The Browns
The Buccaneers
The Patriots

My DVR has been telling me the same thing. If they ever made some biodrama about Brady and Belichick itdi have to be a series. Too long for a movie lmao.
the only shirt worth buying or wearing is Superbowl shirts. there are only two weeks to have an AFC champ shirt on. between the end of the game and the super bowl. after that it's pointless.I buy the AFC Champions shirts, just because. I started that in 2011.

Put those shirts in the closet for ten years then pull them out and they are great.the only shirt worth buying or wearing is Superbowl shirts. there are only two weeks to have an AFC champ shirt on. between the end of the game and the super bowl. after that it's pointless.
I've listened to Boston sports radio for the past few years. They consistently complain about this team, and any shortcomings they have. They don't deserve this team. I feel as though some take them for granted. Like the Patriots should be world beaters every week. Hacks like Felger & Mazz, Tomase, and Shaughnessy should cover the Bills or Jets for a year. Then maybe they will have a deeper appreciation for this organization.
In a nutshell, I don't take them for granted. What they are doing will never be replicated again. I savor every moment. They have the best ownership in professional sports. They have the greatest coach & QB to ever live. Team success has always been their # 1 priority. It won't be this way forever. There will come a time when winning the division isn't a foregone conclusion. But the good thing is that nobody can take the Super Bowl wins away. The Butler interception, 28-3, AFC title game in Kansas City, & SB 53 is forever.
yall obv got it from same place, curious minds wonder, where did you hear that factoid?
They still talk over each other.I very seldom listen any more. In 2001 was living in NW Maine and when coming back to RI for family stuff, could not wait until I got into the range of WEEI... they were informative then, even though they all talked over each other. Today they have morphed into a conspiracy driven outlet laced with outlandish comments and conclusions based on few facts. Social Media likes and twitter followers are the barometer of their success. Nothing makes my butthole tighten up more is when I am with a group of people who will preface their comments, "I heard this on Sportstalk the other day ___________ " , rather than discuss I walk away.
What really irritates me is when Bertram will comment some half assed comment about the Patriots and Zolak remains silent.. sometimes I think my expectations are just too high...
Irsay: The *great* teams have an appearance in the SB every single year.
That was an interesting read on the logistics of that event if you can find it.According to Irsay, the "Great" teams have to move out of a city in a truck in the middle of the night....
