I know its way after the fact, but some people thought Indy was a sure ticket to the super bowl, but with Baltimore's inept offense would that have been a better match up for us???

I thought the Ravens and McNair were overrated all year long. I wanted to play them in place of SD and would have rather of played them vs Indy. The match-ups are much better for us vs the Ravens then either of the other teams.

Most definitely. We would have stopped the Ravens' running game totally, then McNair. We'd have won a low-scoring game.

In hindsight, the Colts second half adjustment to move to a quicker Offensive scheme that prevented us from rotating defensive players played a big role.

While the Ravens defense is incredibly impressive, one has to think that our offense would find a way to score enough points, and our defense, which would have a better opportunity to rotate and rest, would shut down the Raven offense as well

But its not like we had a choice in the matter.

The only thing we could have controlled is our record and the possiblitity of home games and byes.

Playcalling and personnel moves, along with player execution all enter into that equation. Any of those items could have resulted in 1 or 2 more wins - allowing us to stay home, get the bye, and avoid travelling to SD back and forth the week before the AFC championship as well.

But there's no use crying over spilt gatorade.

Before the playoffs, the Colts and Bengals were the ones I wanted to avoid. But, whatever, we had a huge lead and blew it.

Got this tidbit from a Ravens blog...was going to start a thread if they were our opponent. From the writer:

    ---

Obviously, we don't know for sure if these were indeed the feelings of their FO...but Pats fans can relate -- it's how most of us feel. Bottom line, BB and the Pats are somewhat feared in the post-season. So let's get back out there! :singing:
