    1. We won by a field goal or less
    2. We won by a touchdown or less
    3. We win by multiple scores 10+ points
Optional Answers (though certainly looking for opinions)
    • It would mean we’re just 2-1, nothing more, nothing less
    • Patriots are suppose to win regular season games (moving to 7-0 under brady), it's the postseason that counts
    • Good to get a conference win and could help decide Home Field Advantage later in the season
    • Have to hear how the refs cost the Ravens the game
    • Patriots won because they featured Welker (got back to doing what they do best)
    • The Media will say the Patriots are back in the fold
    • The Media will say the Patriots still have weaknesses that can be exposed by future opponents
    • Patriots starting to find their offensive identity
    • Patriots starting to find their defensive identity

If this happens, I expect the Ravens/Fans are going to find some way to blame the loss on the referees. Otherwise, it would basically mean we're 2-1 and just made a couple mroe plays than the other guys

    2. We won by a touchdown or less
I guess it depends on the score. Was it a balanced game or did offense/defense/special teams play a key role in decidignthe outcome. Either way, it will come down to a team win and always good to have a win when playing a great football team on their home field.

    3. We win by multiple scores 10+ points
I think the experts would have to find some excuse for them all doubting the team. This would probably be followed by saying how they are better off using Welker and never should have strayed off the path. (or praising them while trying to talk down about them at the same time).

You'll get a mix for sure about how they still have major weaknesses to them beingthe team to beat in AFC (well next to Houston who really does seem to have an outstanding defense i they continue their trend)

The only things that matter are wins. Doesn't matter whether it's by 1 point or 30. Added to this is the advantage in a tie-breaker scenario.

Other than that, I try very hard not to read too much into things.

Will gladly take a W today in any way. Just hearing Flacco come up with excuses at the end of the game will be priceless.

Don't really care how only that it's a win. Just one more for the season. The only thing in your list you can pull from is that it would be a conference win. And the team would be one up on the Ravens

IT needs to be by 10+ so the ravens won't get any confidence going forward.

You guys are good patriots fans, but might get lower grades aboiut playing well with others :p.

Granted it's too early in the season for any game to be considered meaningful and we all have our eyes on the post season. We're looking for continual improvement and want to be hitting our peak at the right time. Still, some victories count more than others.

I wonder what would happen if we flipped this around and said if we lose...but, if we do lose, I will have to come back here on Wednesday when all the angst has died down.

Even if they win 59-0 it will only be because of the refs(according to the ravens).

Well of course. They play dirty so when they loose, its the refs, the NFL, the other team, the wind, earth and fire. Never their own fault.

A win is a win is a win.
I think by the end of the season it would be looked back upon as a win over a team that didn't turn out to be as good as we thought they were at the time.

Find a way to win counts most.

But it will expose areas of weakness that will tell the story for the year..

How does OL stand up to anther quality defensive front?
Does Brady stand in and deliver the ball
Can the Pats corners hold up.

And if your wondering why I mentioned Brady as a potential weakness, it's because he has shown very poor downfield accuracy, needs to find a way to lead a wide open receiver. The receivers have had to make way to many spectacular catches on short throws, drilling the ball. At times Brady dancing (with the ball down) and throwing on the run has looked surprisingly like Tony Eason.

Everyone is saying that at this age, he is the same old Brady. I think the difference is that he is feeling his own mortality. A dangerous thing in a warriors game.

It would mean the Patriots would be 2-1 and ready to move on to the Bills. It would also mean that the Patriots would have the advantage in a home field playoff tie breaker.

It means they're 2--1 and not 1--2, with a leg up on a Conference Opponent. It also means that we shouldn't forget that it's a long season and our 13--3 team lost to a 9--7 team in the SB last year.

  17. they get a giraffe sticker
  18. I get your point, and you are basically right. The problem is that there are many side bars that are rather important about winning against tough teams on the road, bouncing back from defeat, and depending on how they won it, some side bars about the offense or defense or ST.

It certainly means we're no longer below the radar again. People begin to see the 1 loss as an anomaly instead of a trend, although I'm talking analysts instead of opponents. Opponents will always prepare mighty hard for the Pats even if they are 1-4.

I don't buy into the "this is the Ravens SB" routine, but they certainly will be motivated. I think beating a motivated team like that on the road is a very good harbinger for a young team. Hey, we have a YOUNG team that is learning to win.
