Wes Welker: Being interviewed on NFL Live today

In all seriousness, what the hell was a Patriot doing on that station? I am tired of them running their mouths and NOTHING happening out of Foxboro.

Was he promoting something? That could be a reason, didn't see the interview.

I think the OSTENSIBLE reason he was on was to say he got an award..but naturally there was one mention of THAT and 942,733 mentions of cameragate....

He was also on Football Friday and they played Porter's comments for him. He said we have a sign in our lockerroom that says "speak for yourself" and basically implied that Porter should heed that. lol

Re: Wes Welker: Being interviewed on NFL Live Today.

From your perspective, what has been player’s reaction to Spygate?
For us, it's just been going out are business, doing are job week in and week out.

You have to deal with it now and during the last season, how did you guys handle?
It was just going about our business, coach BB does a great job of just preparing us and that's our complete focus. Anything away from that is going to take away from our ultimate goal.

How difficult has the off-season been after the Super Bowl loss and new scandal?
It's just part of it; the Pats have been on top for a long time and we just got to keep that going. I'm not worried about all the outside things; just continue to get better during the off-season.

How will you use all this to your advantage in 08?
The same way we always had, everything outside of football is not going to make a difference in what we're doing. Our motivation is going out there to play the best kind of football we can.

Nothing at all really, just as BB has them trained.

you must be joking. there was no new scandal. once again espn creating a story. dont want the truth to get in the way of a raitings boost. f------ losers, f--- em

I hate them all. I hope the Pats rally around each other again this year and kick everyones asses up and down the field again, and finish off that last game.

They mentioned he was getting the Pop Warner award. But I don't care if he was promoting the Rapture, no Patriots should be on that station. It's very bothersome that the Pats have not once fought back.

I think the PATS have fought back in the sense that BB gave the CBS interview.

I also think that they are focused on FOOTBALL while the little kid in the stands is having a temper tantrum (continuous propagandist journalism).

Interesting to note how well the word may fit here...

pro·pa·gan·da http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/propaganda

1 capitalized : a congregation of the Roman curia having jurisdiction over missionary territories and related institutions

2: the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person

3: ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one's cause or to damage an opposing cause; also : a public action having such an effect

I understand them taking the high road, but I don't have to be happy about it.

I'm with ya! It's frustrating.

A couple of things. First of all, Goodell put a gag order on them immeditately following the original issue after the Jets game. Since that time, BB has gone on and done an interview with Armen Keteyian regarding the situation.

What is most bothersome to ME is the fact that Goodell has clearly shown that the rules only apply when he says they do. Otherwise, he would have punished the Jets for the taping of the 2006 AFC Wild Card game. By not taking action then, but taking action against the Patriots and then putting a gag order on the Patriots, it tells me that this issue is still bigger than the league has claimed and that the Pats were made an example.

A gag order about CameraGate has nothing to do with the IR thing. They should be fighting that.

Fight what? Its on the NFL to prove that it happened. All they have is the word of Matt Walsh that it happened in 2001 and Ross Tucker that it happened in 2005. Its an internal league issue. In other words, this is something that happens alot and they don't publicize it because they know it happens. They just fine the team and move on.

Its a non-issue. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see this changed going forward since the league has voted to reduce the length of the CBA.

I would be willing to bet that the IR/PUP rules get changed in the next CBA so that players who have recovered from an injury can practice with the team and even rejoin it. The team would still have an active roster limit of 53 and a practice squad of 8 and would still have to meet the salary cap. But its certainly doable.

Again please bombard Espn , with anything you can think of and tell them how you feel..

If you're taking this from the insider** on ESPN, I wouldn't take it as fact. Rumor, certainly, but I'd want to see a more authoritative source before I made that a definite statement.

**I don't know if he is or he isn't; as far as this goes, though, it doesn't really matter.

I don't know if bombarding espn is the best tactic. Doing that creates more clicks, more page views, more responses from other fans, higher ratings, more ad revenue, and more profit. It's exactly what they're looking for. Just try to avoid them as much as possible. Get your scores and sports stories elsewhere, there are plenty of other alternatives.
