I feel no sympathy for Welker. He's played the last 2 years of a playoff team, catching passes from Peyton, and had a chance at a Super Bowl last year. Plus, he's kind of a douche.
Mankins, on the other hand, got dealt a bad hand. To start the year on the eventual champion and get traded on the eve of the season to the worst team in the NFL sucks. He remained a class act the entire way. Pour one out for the man.
Are the 2014 Patriots still champions with both men on the team? Who knows. At this point I would take Amendola over Welker. I would imagine Mankins to be an improvement over Connolly/Wendell, but then again, I got some bad memories of Mankins in Super Bowls.
