RedZone is probably worth the money over Sunday Ticket for ths year, only because of so many late games for the Pats

That is my thinking as well. Sunday Ticket is getting quite expensive. So I may just drop by the Pats fan club Bar, even if it has moved half way across Phoenix for me.

Hey guys just a heads up about Sunday Ticket. There was talk out here last year about this and someone posted that if you call up and speak to someone in cancellations they will offer you a better price. Worked for me. They went down to $180 from $300. It may depend on how many years you have had the Ticket but I seem to remember a few people out here getting the reduced rate. Good luck.

as far as the tv schedule goes. I usually don't like to look at it because I know the Pats will have 8 - 10 games I would be able to see without paying. Still worth it to me to have the Sundy Ticket, no worries about seeing every Patriot game.

Awesome. Look's like I'll be able to see most of the games this year, and all of the important ones. The Brady/Manning matchup wasn't televised in New Orleans last year for some reason.

That was because of the 'other' blackout rule mentioned in the article: when a team plays at home, there cannot be any other game on broadcast television in the local market (i.e., within 75 miles). If you don't have Sunday Ticket, that local game is your only choice. The Saints were playing at home, so even though the game was sold out you and others near New Orleans were unable to watch the Colts play the Patriots.

In theory this is done so fans will go and spend their money at the local game on parking, hotdogs and beverages (and make the venue appear more appealing by being full) rather than stay at home even though they already have a ticket to the game, but in my opinion the real reason is so more people - whether it be either individuals or sports bars - will purchase the Sunday Ticket.
