Hmm. Looks like they're definitely undercounting YPA, but I like the weight given to TDs vs. turnovers.

    Huh?

Aside from strength of schedule argument (Fitzpatrick vs KC) that seems pretty acurate.

Sanchez in particular -- who, I'm guessing you think should be ranked higher -- almost blew it in the 4th Q...then almost blew it again...then almost blew it once more. In the 4th he had an INT, a Fumble, and went 3-n-out on two drives where a FG was needed ti seal the deal.

His game was eerily identical to Romo's; who is now getting crucified. If not for a Punt block, then Sanchez would be too. Both were garbage when it mattered most. I'm guessing QBR takes that into account.

Any metric that ranks Romo 11 must still have some major bugs in it... I think their clutch index needs adjustment...

I have less trouble with Sanchize at 26 than Romo at 11. As for the blocked punt, I believe Romo also had them going backwards at that juncture... I wonder what they factored in for being so disjointed you missed the snap while still hanging on to a prayer of reaching makable FG range for one of Jerry's long kickers...

Sanchez is a little punk but he finds a way to win, almost despite himself. I hope he throws up all over himself when the Patriots beat them 150-0 in the playoffs but his history says he shows up in big games.

Before I forget, he is also a punk ass, weasel.

This TQBR stat is absolutely useless. It's even worse than Passer Rating in that it just doesn't represent what you saw on the field as accurately.

Actually, the thing with passer rating is that within the context of a single game, it could be completely useless, but over the course of a season/career it's a pretty good indicator of a QB's performance. Actually, if you use Passer Rating+ as an index, (which basically measures a QB's rating in relation to the league average in the time period in which he accrued his stats), then it gets even better.

TQBR just has too many subjective components in it's formula to be as good a representation of efficiency.

It's clear from Romo's relatively high QBR rating after his multiple game killing bonehead unforced errors that the subjective measures are completely disfunctional. Useless metric.

And can anyone in planet Earth explain to me how in the hell is Drew Brees' "clutch" rating that much lower than Cam Newton's?

Those are great results for showing that this 'enhanced' rating isn't going to be the uber stat it was being advertised as being.

I really didn't check to see that Romo was at 11. That's awful. He should be at 27.

He shouldn't. He played as good a game as you can possibly hope to play against the Jets D for 50 minutes. His boneheaded pick ultimately decided the game, but if that punt isn't blocked people would be raving about Tony and the Cowboys today. You could argue he deserved a lower "clutch" rating, but his performance yesterday was solid, nowhere near as bad as some here would lead you to believe.

You seem to have watched a different game than the rest of the world.

McNabb was also ahead of Sanchez, and he had 30 passing yards, was 7/15 with a pick, and a loss. How does that work? Not defending Sanchez, but that makes no sense.

just because I watched this game and it's easier to compare guys on the same team...

I don't think Gradkowski outplayed Dalton. There was certainly no unbelievable difference, but Dalton was better. Had 3 balls dropped by Simpson, for one.

Wasn't a big selling point of the QBR is that it's supposed to put more weight on heroics or massive screw ups later in the game (especially stuff that essentially decides the game) compared to stuff that happens earlier in the game?

They don't take into account tipped balls for ints which in most cases aren't the QBs fault. This rating system is corrupt! :)
