"Weaponize the offense"

I understand.

Consider that all the injured from last year that will be returning, and that all of our free agents have been re-signed or replaced.

Our top Defense should be even better this year.

We have replaced Mac jones with Brissette.

We have coaching staff that is working together.

We will draft a QB in first round, likely top 7.
=======================
Many said that the difference last year was QB play, and that with even mediocre QB ply would would have been contenders to the playoffs.
==========
BOTTOM LINE
We have a long way to go. But we have come a long way so far and have $50M left of cap space and the draft.
Absolutely right. QB is the most important position in football. With halfway competent QB play, the team is instantly better. Couple that with getting our injured stars back, and hopefully no huge injuries on the OL, and you can easily see the instant improvement.

If they want to focus on QB and LT they can accomplish both by taking the QB at 3, and trading from 34 back up into the first round for Guyton or Mims, They can definitely add receiving talent on day 3, but not a #1.
Who knows if we fund our puka nacua in r3 or r4. Sometimes luck has to smile on us . We are long overdue.

At this point:

Sign Jimmy G, pick MHJ or Nabers at 3, pick Nix at end of first round (trade up from 34), release Zappe,. pick OT round 3 and 4

Why should we be patient? We haven't won a playoff game in half a decade. Last I checked this wasn't the Cardinals.
Yeah, and after that SB victory BB went scorched earth on the roster…predominantly on the offense.

So we have a new regime in place as of a couple of months ago that has been left with the one of the most talent depleted rosters in the NFL. You can’t fix that sh!t in one off season. It’s gonna take 2-3 years and that’s if everything goes well.

Unfortunately there weren’t a lot of playmakers available in FA, especially at the WR position. After Ridley (who’s a below avg WR1), there’s not much there. All the good WRs were either resigned or franchise tagged; teams rarely let WR1s walk. We should take a long look at Williams but that injury history is a huge risk, assuming he can pass a physical.

The reality is that we need to draft playmakers and develop them. The Pats aren’t an attractive destination for top free agents for now, even if we try to overpay. If we start winning again then we become a more attractive destination. So that’s why the draft will be so important for us. We have to hit on most of our picks; especially in the early and mid rounds. That’s how the new Pats will be built.

Then I don't want to hear about cap space. In your scenario, there's no need for it.

There weren't a lot of playmakers available in FA. The ones that were, the Patriots did not get, whether they actually bothered to or not, and simply filled in the gaps with the usual dumpster diving.

The team needs talent. Even if you hit on all 7 picks in the draft, there needs to be more talent. If the offense is as bereft of talent as everyone said - and the team was 4-13 last year, dumpster pickings and re-signing your own players from a 4-13 team is simply not good enough, not by a long shot.

Even if you hit on everyone, it's 7 rookies. There is a lack of talent on the team. Scrubs will not help the rookies get better. If the Patriots think they're going to get better with Jayden Daniels, Xavier Worthy and whatever tackle is left in this year's draft. Mike Onwenu, Hunter Henry and Kendrick Bourne were all part of the 4-13 offense, and they're all back. You mean to tell me that that's the best we can do? Really? Then how bereft of talent is the team exactly, if those guys are good enough to bring back? If it's just the QB, you need to get the best QB possible, and that's not Jayden Daniels. If it's WR, why re-sign Kendrick Bourne? Why not do anything in free agency to improve the position, when you have 100 million in cap space, and double that next year? Why let one of the top LT in FA walk for nothing, and do nothing to address the position. Trent Brown sucks? I agree at times. How about bringing in another LT who's better, or who will at least try? No? More dumpster diving?

There's no point in even mentioning the cap space, if it's not going to get used in any meaningful way in a rebuild.

If you can't get talent in FA, you trade for it. If you can't trade for it, then why are you signing 30-year-olds to short term deals? Outside of Gibson and Chu, that's what they're doing, and those are hardly game-changing signings. Because it looks an awful lot like you're just signing roster filler to fill the roster, to keep the cap from the floor number. When the FA and draft is done, and you hear from Tom E Curran that our 30 million in rollover cap space is a good thing, wonder why we're rolling over cap space. Wonder why the owner who was crying about no playoff wins is suddenly ok with rolling over cap space like we're the goddamned Cardinals?

I'm down for a rebuild, I've been down for a rebuild - but a rebuild means blowing it all up from the top down, and installing a new culture. So far, they've brought back 75% of the coaching staff, 100% of the front office staff save Belichick, 9 players from a 4-13 team, and roster filler. That's not blowing it up. That's running it back. 4-13 isn't good enough to run it back. Mac Jones is gone, that's a good start, but the rest is entirely concerning - and it's kind of ridiculous to plug one's ears and pretend that all of this is just not the product of a cheap owner, trying to recoup his costs from the new video board. Right now, that's what it looks like. I welcome being proven wrong.

Get with the Times upcoming Draft is the Best for WR's in years gotta Double Dip now.
There are always good wrs coming out

They’ve done nothing as of yet to justify taking a QB at. Literally no LT on the team or a legitimate WR 1. If they go into the draft with neither one of those holes fill, no point in taking a QB at 3, headed for disaster as they did with Mac.

Trade down.

Giving Ridley that contract is not the way to go.

Obviously not.

Except the market dictates that's what WR will be getting here on out.

It's really totally possible the Patriots end up with a worse WR making more money that Ridley in the near future.

It's a position of need for everyone. You're never gonna find one worth anything for less than 20 mil ever again.

Sign a bridge LT, take a QB at 3, WR at 34 and 68 and draft a LT in the 1st round in 25

I think you have took at
That sounds "long long" to me but YMMV.

You almost have to think of the Pats as an expansion team without any of the expansion team benefits. The Dynasty days are long gone and it's going to be a while for the team to climb that mountain again.

Disagree. Expansions teams don’t come equipped with a really good defense. But the offense needs a lot of work, and it’s fair to call them expansion level there. And while I still believe thatvST’s matter, I think this regime is not going to dedicate 4-5 positional spots to pure special teamers the way Belichick did, and will look for players with higher positional upside and just have them fill those ST roles to the best of their ability.

Based on what?

Based upon the OL and WR positions being the strongest and deepest we have seen in years. There are weaknesses elsewhere, like LB and TE, but the Patriots are fortunate that they have a top 3 pick in a year where there are 3 franchise caliberQB’s available, and their two biggest needs have the best classes possibly ever.

When was the last time 3 legitimate QBs came out of the first round?

I do not like the idea that we're picking 3 and still getting the third QB off the board. Whoever it is.

Kind of like the Celtics. You gotta draft well. Not many players are gonna come here willingly
I don't get that comparison at all. Brad Stevens has managed to overhaul half the team with new players. He also started in a much better place than Wolf has with the Pats. The Pats are more comparable to the Red Socks right now except the Pats are actually trying to improve their team. The Socks are not.

Weaponize. What do you do before you go to battle? Get WEAPONS! I'm sick of the Patriot way the last couple of years. Tell you what, draft in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd round 3 Wide Recievers! That my friend is Weaponize..We can get the General Qb later. Rebuild!! Rebuild...Rebuild. Make it happen Mayo. PLAY TIME IS OVER! Some fans like me would love it!

The old Detroit Lions "draft WR's without a QB strategy".
