We need to take some heat off brady and provide him with more big playmaking WR's. I am not talking about change movers like Edelman and Welker....but going after a young WRs with size, speed, and good hands. I understand belichick doesn't covet the Brandon Marshall/Dwayne Bowe type WRs, but we could use one...especially with Hernandez out.

Well, we have 3 receivers besides Welker that Brady loves and trusts, Branch, Gaffney and Stallworth.......umm, oh wait...I forgot. Well at least we have Salas in street clothes and Edelman.

We have the receivers. Could they be better yes. But the real problem is we got in a position of playing from behind. We need to establish come out more aggressively establish a lead and then work are running game. Today we got in a hole.

Brandon Lloyd and Wes Welker is a hard 1/2 receiver combo to top. Combine that with Gronk and AH and its obvious we have the talent. Are identity is a work in progress

Would agree with Lloyd/Welker being a great combo except for the fact that for some reason, Edelman gets the start today and has more snaps through 2 weeks than Welker. What is going on in NE?

We have 2 playmaking WR's and 2 more solid depth options with familiarity in the offense. For some reason 2 aren't on the roster and 1 isn't being utilized half the time.

I was never an Edelman fan, as a WR. It seems like they want him to be the future slot receiver.

I find that stupid. Welker is clearly better in the slot than Edelman. Yet, in the last 2 games, Edelman has many more snaps than Welker.

If Pats think Edelman is the answer, they are truly mistaken...

We have the top FOUR receiver combination in the nil. With one out, we still have one of the best THREE receiver sets in the nil.

We question why Belichick prefers Edelman and Salas over Branch and Gaffney. For Edelman's part, I suggest that, in the mind of the team, none of the three old-timers was enough of an upgrade over Edelman to have on the active roster. Salas is the young developmental wide receiver that we posters often say we like to have.

Personally, I would like to have a veteran old-timer on the team who knows the system, even if he is given only very limited action. We'll see if one is added this week.

Either Branch and Gaffney are completely done or BB screwed up the WR corps. This isn't really news.

QBs who throw the ball do better with better receivers to catch the ball. This isn't really news.

Brady's age has nothing to do with it.

If Brady can't get it done with this receiving corps then it aint gonna happen ever.

The AH injury was a big hit. He was likely a huge part of the game plan. We had issues adjusting to him being out in the first half. Second half we showed well offensively with the exception of the questionable run plays.

But the receiving corp is interesting. Like why give up a pick for Salas just to have him be inactive? Why not just keep Gaffney or Branch as a inactive?

You are entitled to your apparent opinion that Lloyd and Salas are not adequate replacements for Branch and Ochocinco.

With Hernandez out for awhile, I expect us to pick up a veteran as a backup. Maybe Gaffney and Branch are completely done, perhaps not. The judgement was that they are not worth much to the 2012 team. Did you see great 2012 practices or preseason action by them to convince you that either is worth anything at all in 2012, other than a speed-dial potential backup in case of injury?

At this point, I wouldn't even try to explain this team's thinking when it comes to the WR corps. It seems every bit as stupid as last year's safety decisions. I'm just hoping that there's something we don't know that explains it all.

Since I didn't make that argument, perhaps you could avoid putting such arguments in my proverbial mouth. The issue isn't about Lloyd, as you know since we discussed this all bloody offseason. This is about the 3-4-5 WRs. You may think that carrying what seems to be 444 D-linemen is more important than having quality players at WR who would see time in a regular game and in case of injury. I think having legitimate WRs backing up the outside WRs is more important than carrying the stiffs that currently reside on the bottom of this team's roster.

You know better than making this argument about veterans. I didn't need to see any preseason action of the nature you're talking about. Brady didn't show much either. I didn't notice him getting cut.

Jeez. Going that far to make a point about an argument I never made in the first place.... There's so much more on the board for you to focus on.

this offense has to learn to play without AH or RG in the lineup. i mean they have no choice now, but they have to be prepared for this kind of stuff. this is buffalo 2011 and super bowl 46 all over again.

The O had its moments, but never got going. I like what Ridley is doing, but I am a bit surprised by the lack of O - especially with an effective running game. Lloyd and Brady are getting there, but it is a bit slow going.

The exciting part of this game was our D. It has been a long time since we were locked in a defensive battle. They are coming along nicely. Jones is really exciting and Hightower doesn't stink. Spikes is picking up where he left off - a little more consistency will come as he stays on the field.

Gost - what a downer. I hope they had Baltimore on their minds, but Arizona is a really solid team.

Here's an explanation---it's not 2004. It's not even 2007. Branch Gaffney and Stallworth can't play anymore. Better to have a developmental player like Salas who could one day be good in the final WR slot than an over the hill player who will never again be good.

I hope so. Seems like we have Salas and Hoomanwanui from the Rams. Obviously JM influence. They're holding 2 roster spots the same 2 spots that I would of liked to see Gaffney and Branch hold.

Do we need Hillard and Hoomanawanui? Where is Fells? Why isn't Salas dressing. Lots of things need to be straightened out.

But the defense is great. So I am happy.

Gaffney is comming off his best season. Branch was good for us last year.

Even if you feel that Salas is going to be good in the future I still question having 4 TE on the 53 man roster and Hillard as a FB.
