After looking at the end of the 1/4 of the season it appears right now there are 4 teams in elite power status and the rest look like pretenders,Only 4 teams have played consistently these first 4 weeks.

Surely things will change a bit as we go towards midseason but other than Indy,NE,Dallas and Pittsburgh can you trust any other team out there on a weekly basis to play good ball? - NO IMO There are way too many jekyll and Hyde teams and the betting lines are a crapshoot more than ever.

Goodell as commish would love to see parity and for awhile in the early decade it appeared to be so but this year is only one of a few where there are several teams that standout while the rest are not so great,at least right now.

You have to wonder if there will ever be parity as a regular yearly thing.

IMO As long as you have FOs like the Steelers,Patriots and Colts and well coached teams too there will always be an advantage over the majority of the teams of the league - Goodell must hate that.

Maybe thats why Goodell came down hard on the Pats and he probably would come down hard on the other good teams too,That helps with Parity in the long run.
If it were a crap team like the Dolphins who had that camera scandal they probably would have had just a slap on the wrist.

It makes sense that a few great organizations would shine in the salary cap era. There are many variables that lead to a good football team, one of those variables is the players. By mandating league minimums and the salary cap, there is only so much that can be bought in terms of raw talent. The rest must be done through coaching and talent evaluation.

    In a short summary:
There are only so many variable, A, B, and C, than affect a team's ability to win. When you make A equivalent across the league, B and C become all that much more important.

The introduction of the cap led to parity for a short time - just long enough for the better organizations to master its intricacies. Now, those that manage the cap through good drafting and bargain FA's prosper at the expense of the less well-informed franchises. At least now the divide b/w haves and have nots is based on merit rather than ability to spend.

Maybe that would show how unfair he is..and why he is NOT a good Commish...I am waiting for some other 'cheating' thing to appear..and if he is NOT fair and does NOT come down hard..he's basically showing a lack of fairness. I am still wondering if he's going to investigate the whole 15 second QB blackout deal that some teams are taking an advantage of.

Thats just football for ya. I think you're looking into it a little too much. I highly doubt that Goodell has the intention or the power to level the competition. Get over this whole video-gate stupidity. ITS OVER! MOVE ON!

Yes, he wants them all to be mediocre.

LOL at 28 mediocre teams BTW. Most are just awful.

It's funny because yesterday in the midst of channel surfing games on DirecTV
there was one game ( and I am racking my brains trying to remember which one) and as the play clock ran down they cut to the OC talking into his mike covering his mouth and then cut away to the QB with his hands on the helmet as if he was listening to the call and it didn't hit me until later that I was thinking that he's not supposed to hear anything in the last 15 seconds.......

JC!! There are five teams with only one loss, and at least one more will be added by this time next week! Pittsburgh certainly looks like a team to be worried about and San Diego may finally be pulling it together. Hands down the 2 obvious teams to beat are what they are....the cream of the crop!! The rest of the league is still pretty competitive after that!

The DC is constantly talking to the booth. A QB putting his hands to his head is part of the QB calling out audibles at the LOS.

People need to grow up and get over videogate.
