With Edelman, LaFell and Amendola in various states of disrepair, it might make sense to have a veteran handy. The release and sudden resigning of Carter is curious and could suggest a turn for the worse, but one would think if someone had a problem there would be people ahead of Carter (e.g., Harper).

Watching fans read through and try and interpret the "tea leaves" of PS transactions, reminds me of the Cold War Days when "experts" would speculate on who were the key power players in the USSR, by where they were standing to watch the annual May Day parade. Iosefa appeared in two games for the Patriots this season, rushing for 51 yards on 15 carries. He was the Patriots’ leading rusher in their 33-16 win over the Titans.

The rookie out of Hawaii finished the year on the Patriots’ practice squad.​

Patriots sign S Cedric Thompson to futures contract, per agent

Safety Cedric Thompson signed a futures contract with the Patriots on Monday, according to his agent David Canter.

The 22-year-old Thompson, who was added to the practice squad earlier this month, was a fifth-round pick of the Dolphins last year. The 6-foot, 212-pounder was released by Miami on Sept. 5, 2015 and signed to the practice squad on Sept. 6. He was a four-year letterman and a three-year starter as a collegian at the University of Minnesota.​

New England Patriots to sign Joey Iosefa, Chris Barker, Cedric Thompson to futures deals (reports)

The New England Patriots will sign three practice squad players, fullback Joey Iosefa, offensive guard Chris Barker and safety Cedric Thompson, to futures/reserve contracts, according to multiple reports.

Barker, who has played six games in three seasons with the Patriots, only appeared in one game this season. The 25-year-old was undrafted out of the University of Nevada.

Those three join former Stanford linebacker James Vaughters as players who have signed futures/reserve contracts this season.​

This just proves that just because you graduate college, doesn't mean you're smart. This guy was given a big chance to play a game for a living, even if it's 300k on the practice squad, that's a nice amount of money. What a friggen moron. Not as dumb as Hernandez, but pretty ****in stupid.
