started the day with 7 picks, now it'll be 8. Funny thing is, if you don't wanna draft anyone just let the pick slide to the next team, why add more picks if you don't like what's left. Makes no sense.

Since they don't have much room to sign UDFAs, it makes perfect sense. Be assured of getting the 2-3 preferred guys.

Any lingering thoughts of the Patriots re-signing Dan Connolly are history now. Five years as a versatile, quality starter. Not bad for an undrafted free agent that somehow managed to persevere after four years of bouncing back and forth from the practice squad. One of his four NFL kick returns was very memorable too.



Josh Kline's days as a Patriot appear to be numbered, which is not a bad thing. Ryan Wendell can soon return to being a backup who can fill in when an inevitable injury occurs. Bottom line is that the quality of not only the starting offensive line improves, but so does the depth. Not an easy feat to accomplish when you lose one starter, and two in two seasons (Mankins).

That's what they did with Cassel and Edelman. Both would have been steered to other teams as UDFAs (Titans and Packers, respectively).

Loading up #7's gets you players that otherwise become UDFAs who have team choices.

I would not be surprised to see Connolly back for TC.. The Pats typically go in with 12-14 bodies vying for spots (9-10 on the roster) and 2 on the PS..

I'm not positive, but does Kline have PS eligibility left?
