Bill "the Coupmaster" PoliOn is a certifiable chickensh&@. :D
They were terrified of the pressure 16 - 0 would have brought and threw today's game.
Crap like today only makes the 2007 Patriots, with their 18 - 0 record before their last minute loss in the SB
stand even taller in the eyes of history.
Man do I want the Patriots playing the Chickens after their bye. Want them BAD!!!
    Betcha the Patriots do too.

it was nice to see them lose. they have an "organizational philosophy" that they have talked about for a few weeks now that include resting the starters. what they dont realize is that Peyton has played 150+ games without being injured so what is the chances that he gets injured in 6 quarters between half time today and the end of the perfect season?

Read stuff on the colts forums, the teams mojo might be seriously destroyed. One and done seems possible.

I don't think we should diss any team that has accomplished as much as they have -- except, of course, for their gimmicks with the rules and so on. ;)

Well, we all know it's a major burr in Peyton's saddle that Tommy Boy has an undefeated season and he doesn't And boy, didn't Peyton looked pissed about throwing away the 16-0! I don't blame the guy on this one. I'm no Manning fan but the guy's busted his ass to be among the best and to come back and win some improbable victories this year. To see all that effort thrown out the window for some theoretical playoff advantage should burn the hide of any serious competitor. Plus, I have a feeling this laying down will haunt the Colts later. You infect a winning team with losing at your risk Mr. Caldwell...

Boy, that loss really hurt the feelings of Colt players. Especially, Manning for whom records are very important. But I am glad they decided to tank the game. Keeps the Pat's record intact. That's all I care about (at this point in the season, that is). Thank You Bill Polian. I fully understand that your team want the pressure of an undefeated season weighing on your team. Only time will tell whether you made the right decision.

I am ecstatic the Colts lost.

However in the grand scheme of things, I think the Colts did the smart thing to take out PIT and BALT from a possible divisional round matchup. Indy only needs to beat a bad offensive team like Cincy, Denver, or the Jets to make it to the AFCCG. They conveniently avoid us. Talk about a cakewalk right there.

I was thinking that. They may have also thought that the Jets would have to play us in the first round and that they would give us a hard time. Revis owns Moss at this point. But Indy would have to play the winner of Cincy/Denver. If Denver wins that, then Indy plays them and taht would be a cakewalk as you said,. However, i don't think the bengals would be easy. Not with Carson palmer. no way. The colts struggle against teams with good QBs.

Not to take away from the joy of Indy's loss. But...I'd trade that 16-0 banner for another SB Champs banner any day of the week.

I only hope that this ultimately causes them some mental problems. :D

I can't stand the Colts, but I totally understand why Peyton and the fans are upset! At 14-0, you HAVE to go for a perfect season!

Yehoodi Third String But Playing on Special Teams

I agree with both you and Bos 33333, there is PO implicaitons for the colts lost, that if things stay as they are, might heklp the colts . ..

as for the colts not playing the full game, i have to simply tip my cap to the colts coaches and management. i think it was great that they look to the ultimate goal of the SB victory as opposed to a 16-0. if there backups come thru and win, so be it . . .

but for me, after 2007, i don't want ANY distractions on my team. i sincerely believe we beat GB in SB 42 had we played them even with all those distractions, but given the the giants where there and they were closer to us, those ditractions I think closed the gap on the margin of error

moving forward, till TB has 5 rings, tying Bart Starr, i don't want to see another 19-0 attempt, i do want one, and hope we are in position for one, but i don't want to to be thinking in December, what is going to happen in Feb and who are we going to meet and are the distractions too much to overcome what ever gap is between us and the NFC representative. If we know in December we will play a team that we match up well against, well maybe go for it, but we might not . . . in 07 we ran into a team that we beat in week 17 (and who was "responsible" for letting us go 16-0 even tho other teams could of stopped us, but they were the last and perhaps given some blame, so they had extra revenge on their hands in sb 42), had a team that matched uo well against us, spygate resurfaced, [thank you mr. tomase], and the perfect season stuff, a lot of stuff going on pregame, perhaps not all of that perfect storm will be there in another run of the mill 19-0 season, but why have it . . .

i do want a 19-0 before tb retires, but i don't want the perfect storm of 2007. it sad don't really want to blame the refs, but we were close enough even with all the stuf spinnning aorun to win if a few calls went our way. . . . i remember P burress pushed on the first NYG possession, that if they call the hit to the face on first down, they go 3 and out instead of a 9 min fg drive to open the game, the delay to give the ball to Pwoods on the fumble recovery, and the holding on the tyree catch. i can see how all three were call, let the teams play, so not as bad as some in which we were hosed on in prior years, but if any of those three go our way we win . . . i really wanted a 19-0

I am glad that we went for it once in 2007 and would want us to make the first try, but for tries 2 and 3, i rather want till we get two more 2bs

You're getting waaaaaaaaay ahead of yourself here.
There are 5 teams still in the hunt for the AFC wild card. Cincy beats the Jets (a good possibility) and we lose to the Texans (another good possibility since Brady may not play and the Texans are still alive for the playoffs) and we're the 4th seed and going to Indy after the wildcard round.
You're giving the Chickens far too much credit when you claim they somehow intentionally threw today's game to set-up the playoffs.
    It's simple - they didn't want the pressure of 16 - 0.

I guess I must be one of the only people who really didn't care about whether or not the Saints or Colts went undefeated in the regular season.
