The Andy Reid Song (Reid & Clock Management)

Andy Reid and clock management

This is absolutely amazing and mind boggling to see such horrific clock management from the Chiefs at such a crucial time. I suppose I shouldn't have been to shocked though, given that their coach is the same one that employed 'ho hum' take your time offense in SB 39 as a member of the Eagles. The Eagles were down multiple scores in the 4th qtr and casually marched down the field against New England. Even though their drive ended in a tD (much like last night) their clock management ultimately doomed them.

When the KC receiver was tackled at the one yard line with like 2:30 to go (don't remember the time exactly) little did we know HOW big that tackle was. The Chiefs still scored their TD, but not until 1:18 left in the game. What an amazing job by our defense in making a few stops but even more puzzling was KC's non-chalant execution. If they scored on the other side of the two minute warning the game would have still be extremely in doubt. Its probable they would have had the ball and a time out left with at least 1:50 to go (far better than what Rodgers had to work with in bringing the Pack back for a tying score).

spiking on the 10 was the biggest mistake of all. You can't give up a down there needing a td

Reid said they had headset issues. Sore losers. I fcking hate the nfl.

People have been saying for years "Andy is a good coach he just sucks at clock management"

lol

Then how can you be a good coach?

Andy Reid Furious At Self For Poor Clock Management At End Of 72-Oz. Steak Challenge
KANSAS CITY, MO—Lamenting his total lack of urgency while chewing, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid expressed frustration with himself Thursday over his poor clock management in the final moments of Union Grill’s 72-ounce “Belt Buster” steak challenge. “I just lost track of the clock, and the next thing I knew, there was only one minute left and still 15 ounces of steak to go,” said Reid, bemoaning the fact that he leisurely dipped every piece of the 4.5-pound sirloin in A.1. Sauce while precious seconds continued running off the clock.

“Once I realized how little time was left, I tried to hurry up and managed to get most of it down, but I had trouble lining up the next chunk. I always say how important it is to eat with all your heart for the full 60 minutes, and don’t look ahead to the next meal, and days like today show why. But there’s no one to blame but myself.” Reid added that to avoid a similar mistake in the future, he is simply going to eat the entire steak in a single mouthful.
