What happens between the team and the coach we will never know. My guess is that he will address the team about football, and the Buffalo Bills, etc. I feel pretty confident in that guess.
Yes, he will say nothing.
Did he retire when it was 'reported' that he was about to be wed to Bonnie Bernstein?
Oh, come on, man.
Lastly, 'it will really hope those that feel BB is being victimized by this'? You CANNOT be serious. He should sue to make YOU feel better? For crying out loud.
Pats67 said:We share that sentiment to be sure.
On the second point, I guess I would disagree that the relevance is self-evident. I agree with what MLR said earlier -- I'm really not concerned in the least that this will become any kind of on-field distraction that has anything to do with where the team finishes, etc. The man is not my hero, as I no longer asd an adult have them, but he has my everlasting respect and confidence as someone who produces professionally under any circumstance.
My concern was with what I perceived to be some muckraking on the part of some disgusting pigs - who basically trash anyone who dares to be uncooperative with them, as the Boston Mag story indicated - and irresponsibility on the part of those decisionmakers that 'craft' the front page of the Herald. And of course those who claim that the coach is their 'hero' yet are the first to believe the worst about him.
Pats67 said:Here's a little more on those fine reporters that clearly performed a public service for posters like 'Bills Girl' (ironic that she would be the first to bail on her hero, right?), letting them know how much they have been personally embarrassed by someone they don't even know:
Yeah, you can believe what these girls say
Tunescribe said:I absolutely agree that the Herald, being a tabloid, is given to oversensationalizing the "tawdry and unseemly" to sell papers. Seeing the story blown up into a cover page was beyond ludicrous, but you've got to expect that (not necessary "accept" it) as the style of papers like the Herald and New York Post. But take the Inside Track women out of this for a moment and just go with the facts at hand, the court documents: Like it or not this is a legitimate news story involving a high-profile public figure. It absolutely is relevant in its potential impact on BB and the Patriots. Again, I can't emphasize the operative word "potential" here enough. Hopefully it will not affect BB or, by extension, the team. But to assume it is not relevant because BB has successfully navigated past personal crises is denying the reality of this situation. And that reality is: The coach of our NFL team has been dragged into a contentious personal legal matter of unknown consequences. For that reason alone it is worth knowing about. Is it a big deal at the moment? No. Could it become a big deal down the road? Possibly. Let's just hope it goes away quickly and quietly and that peace prevails over a successful 2006 campaign.

Her only mistake was venting to fellow board members she thought would be a little more sympathetic to our plight (hence our screen-names). Cut her some some slack.
And don't give me any crap because I don't post often enough. I get here when I can.

You can't be serious that you think that allegations made by a party in a court suit can be believed just because they are in the court papers ?? !! ??
If you have paralegal background, you do know that for a filed suit they don't have to get a 'judge's approval' to issue subpoenas ?? It would only come before a judge if the plaintiff refused to comply with a subpoena and they made a motion to compel ?? ?? ??
You are not seriously assuming that Belichick committed any of these alleged acts are you ?? Or do you have something else to go on besides the Herald column ??
I'll refrain from further comment until I can figure out what you are really saying.
Pats67 said:Answer my question first. How could any reasonably intelligent person read any of the above posts and come away feeling that people don't 'like' BB?

Bill's Girl said:I agree that BB's personal life is none of our business. HOWEVER, when one of your constant mantra's is,"Don't do anything to embarass yourselves or the franchise," you have to admit that opens you up to more scrutiny. He has embarassed the Krafts, the Patriots organization, his wife, his children and ALL of us!

MoLewisrocks said:Excuse me but where do you get off expecting the well adjusted adult members of this football message board community to do little more than put up with your teenage crush mentality where our HC is concerned - which for the most part we have. Now you want sympathy when one of you is the first to turn on the object of your affection because some sleezy gossip column fodder linking him to a married woman who is not one of you? She was just venting??? Concern for OUR PLIGHT??? Pahleese...
This isn't about you or her and your delicate feelings or your silly school girl crushes on an NFL HC. It's about a first ballot lock HOF HC being dragged through the mud based on nothing more than some soon to be divorced husbands unsubstantiated claims in a pending divorce/custody/alimony battle that he thinks his wife and BB are more than friends. The fact that in the same court papers the wife denies any impropriety seems to fall on deaf ears, both at the Herald and among a select few here - including Bill's stalkeresque girls clubbers. If you truly respected and admired him rather than being merely childishly obcessed with him you would be among the first to defend his reputation from unsubstantiated muckraking.
And just for context, denials to the contrary, what she did say is:

Bill's Girl said:Mo, even if all of this is baseless and perfectly innocent, it is still embarassing!! This is the kind of thing that sticks to your reputation, the kind of thing that will bring his judgement into question by others. That is what I am questioning.....his judgement.
All I have ever done on this board is defend BB! Through the whole offseason when people were in panic mode over losing Adam, Willie and David, through not signing any big name free agents, through losing in Denver, through good and bad in the regular season...... I have been a staunch BB defender in EVERYTHING football related, grumpy press conferences and all!
His personal life is another matter altogether. No one is riding the people who assume it is true and are congratulating him for getting a little "strange" or the people who are saying they would let him sleep with thier wives or girlfriends. So why am I getting crap for assuming it is true? Because I see this situation as a negative? Forgive me for having morals and being dissapointed in a man who preaches responsibility and the importance of your reputation to his players.
If the judge rules that he cannot be deposed then this will slowly die. If the judge rules he can be deposed, this is going to follow OUR team all season. More than anything, I want BB focused on the team and getting to SB 41!
