I was as pissed of at Kraft as anyone but the vitriol sent his way has gone way over the top and out of bounds imo. I agree with everyone who feels he threw the team and fans under the bus and I agree that it is time for him to step aside and make Johnathon team president, what I take issue with is the extremely vile comments directed at him. He made a really bad decision IMO and it will seriously damage his legacy with Patriot fans and ultimately that should a steep enough price for him to pay, he will find it hard to come by so much as a muted cheer in his own stadium for a long time to come, and while I feel he brought it on himself I also think that this has the potential to cause a serious rift between the team and the fans, and by team I mean the players, as their relationship with Kraft is personal and I think overtly turning on him at Gillette will disgust the players and damage the player/fan relationship. Right now is obviously too soon but at some point prior to the beginning of the season fans are going to have to regain their composure and get to a point where they can at least coexist with Robert Kraft without turning malicious towards him. And given all he has done for this franchise and it's fans I think that's a reasonable expectation.
There is still 3 1/2 months until the season begins and possibly more until Brady suits up, although I think he will be on the field week one, but when the time comes for the banner to be raised I really hope Patriot fans will have the decency to treat Kraft politely at a minimum. I think that the Patriots need to be aware of the situation and keep Kraft in the owners box and away from the on field ceremony, but they should use that ceremony to get the fans completely behind this team for a season long f.ck you to the entire NFL.
My younger brother was a hard core Patriot fan and he had a saying "there's a thousand ways to say f.ck you...." But I'll settle for 31 and another Lombardi.
