Maybe he shouldn't have left it on the breakfast table for his wife to take it to work. His wife is Jane Skinner who is an anchor at the Fox News Channel and Fox Sports had an exclusive. And I am sure this is just a coincidence.

Can the Patriots trust Goodell with the rest of their tapes he's asking for? If we give it to him, whats stopping the Colts from having access to our research? If he cant be trusted to ensure a single tape is kept confidential, how can he guarantee that our entire video collection remains confidential?

I dont think he should be fired for this...But someone should be...And if he cant find the leaker, or chooses not to, then he should resign for an inability to do his job. The buck stops there...And if the leaker was one of our competitors on the competition committee...They should face the same penalty we did. The integrity of the commissioners office is at stake here.

Considering every other statement/thought that Goodell had was leaked before he made a public statement, its not suprising that the tape was also.

He's way in over his head as a Commish. He won't last 2 yrs at this pace. As for his "top ****" wife being a Fox employee and that is where the tape turns up, will make for an interesting explanation.

That's the part that bothers me, they are not going to stop.

Goodell's anger is likely the product of having to explain to his OTHER 4 Network partners HTF Fox was the only one among them to score the tape. Particularly since they all know who his wife is and who she works for.

The leak of the tape in and of itself likely helped the Pats in the long run since most rational people are asking themselves how bad a rule violation could really be when what you are accused of cheating to obtain is being hidden in plain sight.

But Goodell has to watch himself here because sooner or later someone is going to challenge one of his rulings/penalties in a real court (like Polian threatened to do if he wasn't allowed to amortize Manning and Harrison's roster bonuses in the absence of a new CBA). Crap like this doesn't fly in that venue. And the mere threat of a lawsuit scares the schit out of these NFL suits because they always lose them (as they do arbitration, which is why he negotiated that out of the personal conduct policy) and it ends up costing the commissioner's 32 employers the one thing the all understand - $$$$. This is part of the reason why he needs to gain control of his own office before he pisses off some millionaire or billionaire who has his attorney tell him to stuff his rulings up his ass. Benevolent dictatorships only work as long as the natives remain willing to be dictated to.

Roger Goddell is nothing but a slimey piece of crap. His reign will go down as the times where he destroyed the NFL.

Roger Goodell is a media whore and slave to the mass media sharks. Tags and Rozelle made this game what it is. So far his tenure has been more Junior high school principal (no offense, tough job) and not steward of the game.

He has been nothing short of reactionary and holier-than-thou. Instead of putting out fires that could taint and stain the league, he's stoked them. He beleive's the NFL works for him, not the other way around.

He's a self-grandizing zealot who's finally gained a position of power.

You can expect to see anything our coach gave the commish to come up on FOX real soon. They are no different than the rest of the media. They've got an inside track and our media whore Commish will keep the siphon open.

The smear campaign continues, with Goodell and Mangini at the helm. Hmmmm......Both guys in NY. A HC looking for a distraction coupled with a vandetta. A Commish looking for air-time and a HC willing to give him dirt. Sounds like a match made in heaven.

This guy is such a pompous, self-promoting, self-grandizing blow-hard that he could quite possibly ruin the game that Rozelle and Tags made into America's pastime, finally surpassing baseball. Does anyone want to go back to baseball here people? I love the Sox, but I can't follow a team to closely that plays 30 Exhibition, 162 Regular Season and however many Playoff games.
