Lets his reputation be destroyed in an attempt to avoid a 4 game suspension. He should have been out there yelling and screaming. He desperately needed a PR guide.
Brady should have been on every TV show saying "Hey, read the Wells report, Ted Wells said they didn't need my phone. He said that. Why would I be concerned about getting rid of it after Wells, the NFL guy said that. Goodell has been accused of perjury by a judge, why should anyone be surprised that he keeps lying. Hell even the hired gun Exponent said they couldn't be sure if anything happened and the NFL paid them to find something. Every legitimate scientific organisation has proven no air was ever let out and by the way, the Colts balls were also measured under inflated, you know why, because it gets cold in New England"
Doing this would have zero impact on any court case and help immensely. This trash article is what being a good boy has brought.
It came out that the Patriots were begging the league to correct the measurement #s, when it was found out the numbers were bogus. The league of course said nothing yet the Patriots still kept quiet. Infuriating.Remember how Manning got in front of the HGH thing by saying he was
mad as hell and was going to sue? It worked.
Remember how the Patriots did the opposite of that in both Spygate and Deflategate?
The truth is that the Pats/Brady had a very limited opportunity to try to shape the public narrative in both scandals, and both times they miscalculated and punted on it. They did a little better in Deflategate, to the point that I thought they'd actually learned their lesson for a few days, but... nope. By not appealing, the Pats allowed the narrative of "see, they practically admitted they did it!" to take hold.
In the future, any team that wants to to hold up to this PR battle has to counter every leak from the NFL with a leak of their own, no exceptions. Have to counter-spin every NFL attempt at spin. Being right isn't enough, and even the most blatant of lies and contradictions by the other side isn't enough. People are too stupid to be counted on to catch that.
Having said all of that, you couldn't pay me enough to click on this link or any other like it. Not interested.
