This team will be a challenge to close the regular season against, and the Pats' toughest division opponent next season. Forget the Colts, this will be the biggest rivalry again.

"I'm very excited," tight end Randy McMichael said. "This is one of those things where you just can't wait. You hate that your season has to end early, but you're so excited about the potential of next year.
"You want to get back to work early. You want to start working out in January, so you can get ready for next year. We're going to be one of those teams where you don't want to come down to Miami, or you don't want to see us come to your house."

"To just run off five wins in a row is hard with any team, no matter who you play," Dolphins defensive end David Bowens said. "But I think the edge that we have is we have an attitude. I think Nick has created that, the players have bought into it and we're not accepting losing."

...that's what life is like for the Dolphins right now. It's like they're kids again, having fun playing in the street.
"It's just nice to win," linebacker Zach Thomas said. "During the week, it's such a drag when you're losing. It makes it work. Going over the last five weeks, it's really been fun. Guys are coming together. We're enjoying football, but we're working and understanding the defense a little better -- and that's why we're playing better.
"Earlier on, we were making mistakes, not knowing where our help is and busting coverages. When you know this scheme, it can be dominating. That's why I've been enjoying it."

Saturday's win not only marked Miami's first five-game winning streak since 1999, but it also assured the Dolphins of finishing at least 8-8, if not 9-7.
It also means that Saban will continue his run of never having a losing season as a head coach. Not that he ever looked at it that way.
"It's not important to me," he said. "We all like winning. The fun of this is a job well done, as I've said many times. The purpose of what we do is to have success. We focused a lot this year on the process of what you need to do to be successful. I think this team bought into that and has a belief system in that right now which has been beneficial to how we've completed and played."
