Lost in all the doom and gloom is the fact that a lot of rookies are making contributions. Vollmer: Played a great game against one of the top DEs in the business Edelman: Caught 2 passes and scored a TD. Stanback: Caught 2 passes and played a lot. Good first game for just coming odd PS. Ingram: Don't hear his name called. For a long snapper, that is a good thing. Butler: 7 Tackles Chung: 4 tackles and good work on special teams working against the Gunner. Pryor: Played some and had one tackle. Brace: Got some playing time. Assisted on a tackle. Didn't really notice much else. That is 8 young guys getting some valuable experience. Add to the mix, the contributions of second year players like Mayo, Guyton, Slater and Wilhite and third year player Meriweather. The Patriots also have 7 picks in the first two rounds of the next two drafts. I think the future will be very bright for the Patriots. Or is it wrong to be optimistic after a disappointing loss?
