Revisiting the 2013 Draft Day Trade: Cordarelle Patterson for four picks

It was a good trade then, and it's a good trade now.

I think Belichick would be all over the opportunity if it presented itself again.

Fixed for accuracy. :)

Referring to the fact Patterson goes 12th and Collins 14th! He even admits Patterson is just a KR

My analysis:

"On a day when they could have had impact players Cordarelle Patterson or Justin Hunter or the second-best quarterback in the draft in Geno Smith, they took Southern Miss linebacker Jamie Collins, whose team was winless and is too thin to play linebacker and too tall to play defensive end. This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent running back in Montee Ball and settled for cornerback Logan Ryan, who will not help any time soon."

Lol, what an idiot! Patterson at #12?

Maybe he just wanted to see Kuechly, Davis and Collins play together. But I figure it's the former.

So, if you had told the Minnesota Vikings in 2013 that Patterson would not even be capable of playing wide receiver and would be demoted to KR only (especially in today's league where he averages two returns a game), they would have traded up not just to 29 but all the way to 12?

Open market, Jamie Collins is probably worth 9-11M per year right now. I'd be surprised if Patterson could land a 2.5M deal.
