Former Maryland TE Will Yeatman has agreed to terms with the New England Patriots.

Pats sign the 999th ranked player, DE Ryan Coulson, Nevada. 6'3 243 pounds.
Interesting in that he is also a LS. Would rather have a LS that can fill in the backend of the depth chart at a position of need (rush end) than dedicate a roster spot to a specialist.

the HERALD ran this story in April:
Should we just hand ex-lacrosse player Will Yeatman a Patriots jersey now?
If there is one lock in this NFL Draft, it’s that the Patriots will select at least one oddball player you’ve never heard of in the later rounds who will make an impact. Like seventh rounders WR Julian Edelman in 2009 and DE Brandon Deaderick in 2010.
So, I’m throwing out this year’s random selection right now: How about Will Yeatman?
As National Football Post points out, Yeatman is a 6-foot-7, 275-pounder with a 4.7ish 40-yard dash and a 28.5-inch vertical. He projects as either a blocking tight end or a future left tackle. The comparison the article makes is to former Temple tight end Steve Maneri… who is now a Patriots reserve tackle.
All that is fine and good. But that’s not the characteristic that figures to open Bill Belichick’s eyes. Nope, it’s one other thing — Yeatman is a former star lacrosse player. At Maryland, he was an All-American who was part of the U.S. National Team tryouts, though he’s now committed to football.
See? Belichick’s kinda guy. As NFP’s Wes Bunting writes, “The investment is marginal and the pay off down the line could be massive.“
