We talked about this a little before, that his pitching experience probably appealed to Belichick. Kicking in the clutch is no different than throwing strikes when you need to - it's about controlling your emotions to allow your body to do what you want it to do.

Patrick Pass was drafted by the Florida marlins???

I knew about Brady Cassel and the kicker. But had no clue on Pass.

i agree, it is about calming down, getting your heart rate back to normal.
friend of mine sez it's the same thing when you're shooting free throws.
doesn't seem that more than 1/3 of the nfl PKs can do that tho. maybe we'll just have to accept an 80% kicker who hits 1/2 of the big shots. like everybody else. last year, with AV, the dolts coulda won 2 extra games. wouldn't have done them a lick of good in the playoffs, they'd still woulda had a bye and had to play steelers at home.

Why were they drafted at young age by baseball teams?

I wonder what position Pass played??

Good point! Fortunately a simple tweak should make the quote Tunescribe-safe:

"We talked about this a little before, that his pitching experience probably appealed to Belichick. Kicking in the clutch is no different than throwing tantrums when you need to - it's about controlling your emotions to allow your body to do what you want it to do."

The question is, did Gostkowski pitch like Matt Clement or like Jonathan Papelbon?

Most baseball players are drafted just out of high school based on potential. they then progress through college or any of the sumnmer leagues and eventually the minor league ranks of the major league team they are affiliated with.

Throwing tantrums when you need to? What the hell is that supposed to mean?
