Knee surgery and quick recovery don't generally go together hand in hand.

I doubt the Patriots would have done this if they thought it would come back to bite them later in the season.
 
Maybe he disagrees re: needing surgery, or at least figures that he can put it off for one last season? That's what this would suggest to me, but I hope that it's not the case.

Not quite..CLOSE...but Centers was never placed on IR..just cut..so not exactly the same...he came back when he was better..
 
The way Reiss writes it up makes it seem like he is free to sign with any other team. This would seem a little odd but I am not sure what the rules are on signing back with the team that you injury settled with but I am sure I will soon :D
