Day 6, 1st practice
The Patriots have just begun their first practice on the sixth day of training camp, running through some drills inside Gillette Stadium. This is their 10th overall workout.

Linebacker Tedy Bruschi isn't present on the field, marking his fourth straight missed practice.

Defensive lineman Richard Seymour isn't present. Seymour is one of seven players currently on the team's physically unable to perform list. The others: cornerback Randall Gay, safety Rodney Harrison, offensive lineman Nick Kaczur, center Dan Koppen, fullback/running back Patrick Pass, and defensive lineman Johnathan Sullivan.

Others missing for this practice include tight ends Daniel Graham and Garrett Mills, and safety Ray Ventrone, who have yet to practice in training camp. Defensive lineman Jarvis Green is out for the sixth straight practice, while fellow lineman Marquise Hill hasn’t participated in the last seven practices after sustaining an injury on the third session of camp.

Inside linebacker Monty Beisel is another player not on the field for the practice, along with cornerback Asante Samuel. Beisel and Samuel also missed last night's practice. And rookie running back Laurence Maroney has yet to take the field. Ditto for rookie receiver Matt Shelton.

Offensive tackle Matt Light and receiver Troy Brown, who have been on an on-again, off-again practice routine, are both present for the workout.

Quarterback Tom Brady is also present.

This workout is being held in shorts, shoulder pads and helmets.

We'll have more to come in a bit.

A good day to stay out of practice I think

For those who think they need it. It won't do anything but you may feel a little better after clicking on it.

Slackers I say! And yes I did click the panic button a few times :D

hmmm dont like to see that many people out of practice but what can ya do

If they're not on the field does that mean they're in the classroom or something? Kinda curious as to why so many are not present

A heat index of 110 degrees or more would be the most likely reason for a few of these guys sitting it out.

Their probably in the training room or in the bubble with the trainers - though nobody's commented on any coaches missing...
